Though currently out of the playoff picture it's hard to count out a team with arguably the best player in the game. Lack of depth is the main problem for this team, they will get into the playoffs with their current lineup but don't expect a repeat. Raptors management will need to bring in some help off the bench if they want to have another shot at the title.

New York has one of the best 1-2 punches in the league with Reggie Miller and Ron Harper. Both are scoring over 20 points a game and the heart and soul of this New York team. Dennis Rodman has come in and been a big factor in the frontcourt, dropping 13.6 ppg and snagging over 14 rebounds. The main concerns with this team lie at the center and point guard spots. Sam Bowie is a decent presence in the post but for most teams would be playing a backup role. Spud Webb is an excellent compliment on the offensive end with his passing and outside shot but gives away alot of points on the other side of the ball. New York will always be a threat with Miller/Harper but need a dominant big man to take it to the next level.\

The twin towers in the city of brotherly love are quite a duo. Together they put in over 50 points, 23 rebounds,3.5 blocks in a game. Muggsy Bogues round's out the rest of the talent on this team dropping in about 9 assists a game. Not too hard to throw it down low everytime though. Depth isn't too much as an issue with this team, everyone is an above average defender. But when the big men are having off games they have nobody else to take on the scoring load. A strictly offensive player at a wing position could do wonders for this team.

A bit of a dissapoint this season after making some nice moves this offseason to try and be considered a team with a chance to bring home the ring. A solid starting five. John Stockton has come in and done exactly what he's done since being in the league. Scoring some, assisting alot and playing solid defense. Tony Dumas is ROY material and has shown he will have the hot hand more often than not. Not the greatest defender though and it may be holding this team back. Glen Rice is doing his thing again this year dropping over 30 points. Robert Horry is still raw but handling things down low, getting 7 rebounds and just over a block a game. Rik Smits is having an excellent season averaging a double double (17/11) with 2 blocks for his giant ass. A great core and some solid depth...but I can't help but wondering why Magic Johnson is getting only 25 mpg at the age of 35 with A handles and B+ defense.

Boston has some great player's on their team. Jeff Hornacek/Vernon Maxwell/Derek Harper but none can play the PF/SF position. Size may be what is keeping this team only 4 games above .500. Rony Seikaly is the only decent big man they have and it is killing them. Still, the big three will keep them in most games and they could surprise come playoff time but I doubt it. They need to trade for a true PF or SF. Losing Wilkins really hurt this team.

Hakeem Olajuwan-31.3 ppg/14.2 rpg
A team that may be plummeting down this list if they decide to trade the most dominant force UOSL has seen yet. Hakeem is going to need back surgery from the load he has to throw on his back night in and night out. It's easy to see what lack of depth can do to a team but it doesnt matter if that team has the Dream. Outside of Hakeem's 30 points a game the next best offensive player is getting 15.6 ppg, followed by 12 and 9. They don't even have that great of defenders on the team but are still prevailing. Pretty amazing.

The Magic have a great mix of talent and it's all coming together with the acquisition of Alejandro Camby. Him and Mutombo scan the post while Pippen stuffs the stat sheet. This team can go very far but needs to do so either this season or next seeing their second best player is only a rental. Still could make a move or two to bring in some more stability at the PG spot.

Dominating the East this year is the team from Charlotte. With hands down the most balanced team in the league the Hornets are poised to aquire their first championship. Down low Alonzo Mourning has come into his own putting up a staggering 4 blocks to go with his 14/12 double double each game. Malone and Johnson combine for 52 points, 21 rebounds each game. Newly acquired roleplayer Kevin Gamble seems to have found a role as a prominent defensive player. Then we have Michael Adams who may be somewhat turnover prone but makes up for it with his high assist numbers and still putting in 17 points. Not very many cracks at all in this wall. Barring any injuries it's hard to see any other franchise winning a game of seven against this team.
