No, I don't think it's awful, but for both sides it's pretty risky.

I need to reset, this allows me to do that....Yes its a risk with only 3 years til my contract year, but I figure I can suck for a few years sign a few FA's then comeback...I haven't done a fully proper rebuild yet....and now I have picks in 99...it is a risk for both teams though I agree, because Clippers need to win, and I need to rebuild within 4 years

he still wont get 40 wins. Who said I was done? Plus i hope your just not mad I didn't do your trade. I dont think you will get 40, plain and simple. Even if you are not done you dont have the pieces. |

the deal is awful because it doesn't make sense for either team.
You could have gotten a much better deal then this without mortgaging your future. You didn't receive any star players in this deal and the Nets gave up some young pieces for esentially Billups.

You didn't receive any star players in this deal and the Nets gave up some young pieces for esentially Billups. I gave up some star players for essentially Billups, and around $10,000,000 in cap room, and a 99 Clippers first, and the rights to swap firsts in 2002, and a shot at Shaq, Penny, and when that fails a shot at the #1 overall next year, and possibly the year after... I gave up Juwan Howard, who hasn't improved in a TC, Eddie Jones who improved in handling last year(after declining his first year), but only improved from a C+ C+ C B+ C to a C+ B C A- C if you take out the points I put into him. and Nick Van Exel, the biggest piece who I have put 25 points into, and he has improved yes, but this last season his outside and handling went down, while his defense went up. With them on my team I am stuck in mediocrity, maybe making the playoffs, maybe not. now if Eddie+Juwan+NVE blow up in TC, yes it sucks, but I need a true rebuild, not this mediocre crap I have been doing. And I feel Chauncey will be as good as NVE in the end. |
