We don't know any of the draft entries for the 2000 draft class but its time to start speculating. There is large number of players trying to come to UOSLR from overseas to showcase their talents. We'll break down some of the potential draftees by the elite, lotto, and the rest of the first round. It's too early to speculate ratings as many of these players are such a great unknown.
The Top 5
1. Tony Parker - PG
The 18 year old PG has been dazzling scouts in the world games and UOSLR GM's are on running up their rollover international minutes trying to see if he'll come over seas and play here to make the big bucks. He should immediately be an impact player and could possibly be a superstar. I'm not sure many GMs could pass him up as being the #1 overall pick. Tony Parker is the future.
2. Yao Ming - C
The big man from China is hard to miss. He is 7'6 and he is fundamentally sound. It's amazing how much he understands the game and GMs are left to wonder if he can handle the speed of UOSLR and the answer is yes! The question is whether he'll be granted a visa to leave the country in order to play. If it happens it will be an interesting debate between him and Parker for #1. As Yao tells all the ladies, "Size Matters"
3. Tracy McGrady - GF
The first American born player on the list. This college sensation has won a national championship, won the Wooden award, and is an academic All-American. He's done it all and he's ready to take his game to the next level. He thinks he's #1 but we don't know if Red, White, and Blue can overtake the international prospects. He's had a chip on his shoulder for a while as everyone doubted his ability to stay in school and get an education and the international guys only fuel his motivation.
4. DaJuan Wagner - G
He's graced the covers of ESPN, SI, Slam, and Time. He's a monster. He's cocky and backs it up. He recently challenged Kobe Bryant to a 1 on 1 game and even though there was no cameras in the gym everyone couldn't believe how bad Wagner beat him. He scored 100 points in one of his high school games and led his team to a perfect undefeated season to win the NJ state championship. Is he the real deal or is it all hype? Everyone who has seen him says real deal hollyfield.
5. Rashard Lewis - F
This 6'10 swing man has the inside game to go along with his silky smooth J. He has a quick release and scouts are amazed at his ability to create his own shot. He is a little on the skinny side but his lack of strength doesn't seem to effect on how well he scores the basketball. If he gets stronger than he will be a very complete player being able to rebound at the 3.
Rounding off the Lotto
6. Al Harrington - F
Many people were surprised he hasn't come out already but he wanted to stay along side his college teammate Tracy McGrady. T-Mac and Baby Al were a dynamic duo and they have expressed an interest in playing together in the UOSLR. They really seem to feed off of each other.
7. Michael Redd- SG
This Ohio product rocks. He is a lefty Ray Allen. Smooth shooting player who just looks graceful anytime he has the ball in his hands. Has the potential to be a #1 option player. Might be better than the guys ahead of him on this list day 1 but does he have more potential thats the question.
8. Andrei Kirilenko - F
AK-47 is a freak of nature. He loves sex, drugs, and rock n roll. He is a slut on defense covering his man and never letting anyone score a basket on the weak side. He steals, blocks, stops guys in the perimeter, and is a pest in the post. He has a monster cock.
9. Memet Okur - C
The influx of players overseas doesn't stop. It seems everyone wants to deflect into UOSLR. This Euro center is a game changer. He can hold his own in the post but he can also step out and hit from 18 ft. He idolizes Sabonis and he might be better than his mentor.
10. Kenyon Martin - PF
Kenyon "Thundercat" Martin bangs on anything and everything. He dunks inside the paint, outside the paint, and from half court. He is seriously motivized. He doesn't offer too much in terms of shooting but he is a solid rebounder and ok shot blocker. He brings grade A tude.
11. Quinten Richardson - SG
An explosive athlete who loves to make it rain. He likes to make the sports center top 10. He doesn't pass the ball EVER. He shoots it from 25ft or he dunks it nothing inbetween. However he does this pretty well. We just wish he would start playing defense too he tends to forget about that.
12. Hedo Turkoglu - F
Hedo who? You'll remember the Vlade Divac's of swing men. He is crafty being able to take it inside, outside, and has very good court vision. A very selfless player who will be a great complimentary player on any team. He doesn't offer too much defensively but is average. He is a solid rebounder for his position too.
13. Joel Pryzbilla - C
A value pick here. Pryz is a shot blocking big man who will solidify any team he is on which doesn't need scoring. He is along the lines of the Dale Davis mold except he's a part time boxer. He likes to knock out guys for fun. He's a little crazy. Lets put it this way he is no AC Green.
The Rest
14. Mike Miller- a sharpshooting swing man who fears the paint. Point Forward?
15. Chris Mihm- Everyday he's hustling
16. Marcus Fizer-If basketballs were hamburgers he'd be #1 pick
17. Jamal Crawford-Some say he will be a top 5 pick others say he should fall to 2nd round
18. Etan Thomas- Hard working big man who will be a valuable asset on anyones bench
19. Mateen Cleaves- a household name who will live on in NCAA highlights forever
20. Desmond Mason- Will be a regular at the All-Star weekend....in the dunk contest
21. Eddie House- scoring punch off the bench at either the 1 or 2
22. Primoz Brezec- this guy is huge but he always wasn't. This guard grew into a center
23. DerMarr Johnson- Riding the coat tails of teammate Kenyon Martin into the draft
24. Courtney Alexander- This guy thinks he Michael Jordan
25. Morris Peterson- a poor man's michael redd.
26. Jason Collier- There is a need for big men
27. Jake Tsakadlidis-read above
28. Mark Madsen- If everyone in this draft has this guy's hustle everyone would be an all-star
29. Erick Barkley- New York New York. St. John's holla
This has the potential to be an average class but some of these guys might not declare making this the weakest draft in UOSLR history. We're hoping to see one or two international big fish making the jump but we'll see. Parker or Yao would be the ultimate 1 or 2 question.
