I ain't no mystic, it's just the kinda shit that used to happen in NBN. Draft workouts and mystery players happened a lot back in the day when Will was in charge and had loads more time than he does now. Every 5 seasons or so you had a mystery player and only lotto teams could hold "workouts". They'd send one of their current players to workout against the mystery draftee and get hints on his ratings in that sense.
E.g. you'd say that you wanted to find out a couple of areas like speed and outside shooting, then the commish would compare their ratings and come back with which player was quicker and which player had the better outside shot. I dont know how the comparison was made, be it the numerical rating or based on letter grading, but this was it wasn't totally obvious what the mystery draftee's ratings were, but you got to know a bit about him relative to your own players.
It also gave lotto teams something else to do during times like the playoffs.

Marcus Fizer I guess then for me.
I had AJ then Etan then Jake on my list. Changed my mind on Jake to Fizer though... really thought I could get Etan Thomas. Ah well.

Jersey's logic is horrible. You took the guy #23 overall. Your logic was you might get stuck with 2 picks in the 20's if someone else takes him. So WORST case you would have turned the one 20's pick you had into 2 future 20's picks.

So WORST case you would have turned the one 20's pick you had into 2 future 20's picks. No worst case is I drafted a player who is a stud, and somebody else got him.....two mediocre picks really don't matter much, but if he's a stud, then I am really screwed, look, I think he has a chance to be better than most players drafted in this region, and really, he's not gonna go ahead of me unless he's good, so yes, I get two firsts....but in the end it would be like receiving two mid 20's firsts for a top 10 pick talent wise, if he works out to anything, otherwise nobody is gonna take him, so your logic is flawed...best case if he goes to college is I get two picks for a star...worst case I waste a pick on him and he turns into a bust, or he turns solid and I don't have a pick in that draft, or even then I would have to spend two picks on a solid player, and I don't even get him, this way, stud bust or solid...I guarantee I get him, no matter what I spent on him....I will have only spent #23 overall on him....I didn't choose him to get two picks, I chose him to get a player.
