One's a 21yr old superstar carrying a team of rookies, the other is a 40yr old bench-player being carried by a superstar and a good cast. Can you name the two? rofl...hahahahaahah

Anyone who calls oden a bust at this point in his career, considering all that he has been through. Why do you all want oden to fail so badly? Is it you are so scared of his possible success on an already good team that you are actually rooting for him to fail. You people really need to check yourselves and actually look at the facts. Fact 1) Yes oden struggled with fouls. -Fouls can be learned and how not to commit them can come with time for any player Fact 2) he had one of the highest rebounding rates in the league. Highest for all rookies. -only k love was behind him. Dominant rebounders are a premium, and if you can get 15+ pts out of them you have a potential all star Fact 3) When oden wan on the floor the % that oposing players shot in the paint declined signifantly, players even tried to drive it in there less -Defensive gamechangers can catapult you to successes you haven't seen in year Fact 4) He is 21 and would be a College Senior -He is extremely young and to write him off at this point is idiotic Writing anyone off that early only goes to show your short-sidedness and blatent bias against the Blazers. It would be like me rooting for Yao, Aaron Brooks, or T-Mac to never play a game again. It would be both idiotic and only show how much of a moron I could be. Saying oden is a bust and a horrible player after one season of play is moronic. If you don't like portland fine. You see them as a threat, fine. But actively rooting for a player to fail...its idiotic. I haven't seen a player with the buzz Oden had coming out of high school since LeBron...So far he hasn't done shit and the player picked right after him has been GREAT so far. I agree its too early to call him a bust but when you have that amount of hype surrounding you, people expect you to produce right away regardless of the circumstances. I do think Oden will have a breakout season this year though.

Oden rookie year 21mpg 56% FG's 64% FT's 7.0rpg .6apg 1.4topg .4spg 1.1bpg 9ppg Yao rookie year 29mpg 50% FG's 81% FT's 8.2rpg 1.7apg 2.1topg .4spg 1.8bpg 13ppg Oh yeah and Oden played on a 54-28 team while Yao played on a 43-39 team. Oden isn't even ahead of the Vanilla Gorilla in the lineup. Let me know when he gets to Yao's level. Oden did just as good in his rookie year as Yao did. Yao was actually and option to score, Oden wasn't as a rookie.

Yao was anything BUT an option in 2002. Van Gundy didn't start forcing it to Yao until after we traded Steve Francis. Before then it was all Francis and Mobley in terms of the offense. Hell the Rockets would get Mo Taylor more looks in games, he was just garbage. Yao was never a focal point of the offense at any time until McGrady came and Van Gundy tried to play through Yao.
