So wait, this is total rape!
Bulls give up their star in a rebuild mode for Finely and Artest. Then after a shitty bull year in which I am guessing they are hoping for a top 5 pick, they get to add Priera back to that team and keep Artest?
so...
Top 10 Pick(to be safe) Artest Priera
?
Geebus that is a rape job with a dry dick

Mops that's the best case scenario for me. What about the worst case scenario?
I mean look, I'm thinking about rebuilding, for sure, but at the moment I still have a playoff team. Rodriguez - Maxwell - Finley - Camby - Deke with Artest and Strickland on the bench is still a DAMN competitive team. No way I just throw it away for the sake of it. I'd only break it up if I get good offers picks / youth wise.
In which case, my pick won't be anywhere near top 10, don't be silly. And, Artest is expiring, so he could walk. Of course, I'm hoping he doesn't otherwise I have no incentive to do this.
But what does Prince get? He gets the best player in history in his prime, and he adds him to Michael Jordan, along with Luc Longley, Nazr and Parker. That means he has two top 5 players in the league along with a top 5 center for his contract year. Not only does that pretty much guarantee his survival, but it also gives him a title contending team.
So, in his contract year, he gets to compete for the title, without giving up his next pick. This means that after his contract year, he could come away with a title, and then a proper rebuilding plan as MJ is likely to retire and he still has his picks, with 3 fresh seasons before another contract year.
Surely that is better than just sitting on what he has now, trying to scrape together 40 wins by trading their picks for scrub talents, and then what? MJ retires and the team has to struggle again.
Meanwhile, I give up my shot at a 3rd consecutive title and get a shot at re-signing Ron Artest as my compensation at the end of the season when all my current players will be a year older.

And worst case scenario for me:
Ron Artest walks in FA, I can't find value for my current stars, and I end up next season with the exact same team I have this season but everyone's a year older and maybe even a few retirees. My team won't be competitive.
Of course, I'm not blind, I'm hoping this doesn't happen, but that's my incentive. I'm taking a risk. Prince isn't taking many risks here at all. He sacrifices Ron Artest for a shot at a title, surviving contract year, and a proper rebuilding plan.

Lmao at that dude agreeing to something like this when he would probably be an 8th seed anyway.
Funny that there is no 30 page uproar about borrowing the best player in the league.

This kind of deal is just dumb......
This is the way I look at it.
Priera
for
Finley
should be vetoed next year. That trade cannot standup on its own. Tradebacks should not c arry over from one season to the next.

Love it for Tiger, obviously, and I still don't think Detroit should have done this. They probably could have made the POs and/or 40 wins this season.
I don't mind the tradeback as much, since I've done it before (not here) ;D.

If that's the way it is then so be it, but I've seen tradebacks happen before. This is what this is. It's a tradeback.
