1) They must have bird years (3 or more years) on the player when the player is being resigned (can't be done in the middle of the contract). Detroit did not have the bird years when they signed Manu

yeah but we should make it so people can use it. No one uses it, so we should change it or get rid of them.

well, tbh, it actually doesn't make much sense for a team that didn't sign the player to have the ability to frontload

one of the other rules was that you can't trade a player to be frontloaded, only the team that signed him had those rights, but I do agree with DB, that Frontloading might should be made a little easier.

I think the bird rule shouldn't be there.
However I think if you are going to frontload it you must have signed the player, can't be a trade type deal.
