For the sake of time and because I'm feeling frisky, I'm doing this a bit differently.
Anderson Varejao
-You should draft him because he's a good positional defender. He's hustle for offensive boards and does everything a complimentary big man should do. He's got good size and should help at either big man position'.
-You should not draft him if you're looking for a shot-blocker or a scorer. He's opportunistic but not consistent. He's also a bit turnover-prone.
-You should expect him to be a great C/PF back-up during his career.
Johan Petro
-You should draft him if you want defense. Petro has the size and ability to be a defensive anchor for years to come. He's a good shot-blocker and an amazing drive defender. He can protect the paint like few others can.
-You should not draft him if you want a scorer or a rebounder. He's limited to put-backs in his offensive arsenal. He's a bit clumsy and doesn't make good decisions.
-You should expect him to see a lot of minutes in his career for his defensive ability.
Rafael Araujo
-You should draft him if you're looking for extra depth off the bench. Similar to Big Country Brian Reeves, Araujo is a talented scorer inside, but is a pretty good rebounder in addition.
-You should not draft him if you're looking for a starting big man. Araujo can probably put up good numbers on a sub-par team as a starter, but will be better used as a back-up. He's not much of a defender either.
-You should expect him to go later in the 1st round and probably fill a good void as a scoring back-up, though he may not see as many minutes as he should because of his defensive deficiency.
Ha Seung-Jin
-You should draft him late in the 1st round or early in the 2nd just because a reporter once mistook him for Wang Zhi-Zhi.
-You should not draft him because he is, in fact, not Wang Zhi-Zhi.
-You shouldn't expect too much.
Dwight Howard
-You should draft him if you have the #1 overall pick. He's an amazing athlete, shot-blocker, and rebounder. Definitely a franchise PF for many years to come.
-You should not draft him if you unfortunately did not land the #1 pick or you hate winning.
-You should expect him to go #1 and have an amazing career.
Al Jefferson
-You should draft him if you miss out on Dwight but want a nice consolation prize. Jefferson is more than that though, he could definitely challenge Howard in a few years for best PF in the league. Talented scorer and rebounder, Al Jeff will be a franchise PF in the future.
-You should not draft him if you're looking for a great defender. Jefferson can block shots, but is slow-footed and a bit uncoordinated. He needs to improve his decision-making.
-You should expect Jefferson to have a great career as a future All-Star.
Chris Bosh
-You should draft him if you miss out on the above two men. He's much more versatile than the aforementioned big men. He can score, shoot, block shots, rebound, and even put the ball on the court a bit. Similar to Kevin Garnett with less defensive and rebounding prowess.
-You should not draft him if you aren't looking for a big man. At this point in the draft there will be comparable SFs/SGs to take a look at. He has a weaker frame than desired for a big man and tends to make bad passes.
-You should expect Bosh to have a stellar career and be a top 5 pick.
Paul Millsap
-You should draft him if you want to take a chance on talent and upside. Millsap is a good scorer and a very good rebounder. He makes up for his size with great strength and toughness.
-You should not draft him if you are looking for a tall big man. Millsap is 6'6'' and will probably grow one more inch at the most. You should also be wary of his defensive match-up with opposing big men.
-You should expect Millsap to come out and work hard. With proper grooming, he could be a very good player. Should go in the lotto.
Sofoklis Schortsanitis
-You should draft him if you are intrigued by the big Greek fellow. He is a powerful presence down-low with scary strength. He bullies other players around, even those as big or bigger than him just because of his dominant style of play.
-You should not draft him if you expect an all-around big man out of him. He won't be a great rebounder and will struggle to be a defensive player.
-You should expect a team to take a chance on him midway through the 1st round.
Josh Smith
-You should draft him if you want an exciting player to bring in the fans. Thunderous dunks, fierce shot-blocking, and fastbreak marvels are what you'll get with Smith. You'll also get a guy that could possibly get steals/blocks like a certain Frenchman already in the league. What he brings defensively and athletically could propel him into the top 5.
-You should not draft him if you want a dynamic scorer. That is not Josh Smith. He's a very good leaper and has a solid jump shot, but not much more than that. He's turnover prone, so that will need work at the next level
-You should expect teams to salivate at his upside and probably take him a bit higher than some other potential All-Stars.
Josh Childress
-You should draft him if you want a traditional forward/guard talent that has solid scoring and solid defense. Good athlete and solid rebounder, Childress has all the tools to be a very good player.
-You should not draft him if you want a superstar forward/guard, because that isn't Childress. He needs to work on his jump shot and take care of the ball better.
-You should expect Childress to be a good fourth or fifth starter for a team someday, probably a 16-17 PPG kind of a guy.
Al Thornton
-You should draft him if you want to take a chance on the guy who has the chance to become the next Lamar Odom.
-You should not draft him because scouts are worried that, while his skill set is impressive and well-balanced, his work ethic and desire to play the game have been questioned.
-You should expect a team to either go crazy and take him too high or teams stray away and someone end up with a steal.
Yaroslav Korolev
-You should draft him if you want a unique SF that will bring a different aspect to the position on your team. He's a crafty ball-handler and a balanced defender. He's also incredibly young with that raw talent factor.
-You should not draft him if you don't a have three or more seasons to wait for results. Korolev will definitely be a project and should not be considered by teams who don't have the luxury of grooming him.
-You should expect teams to take him high on upside alone. Whether or not that will pay off is the question.
Trevor Ariza
-You should draft him if you want an athletic guy that can play very good defense. Ariza should be a very good complimentary player.
-You should not draft him if you're looking for a guy to carry your team, that isn't Ariza. He's clumsy with the ball and struggles shooting.
-You should expect Ariza to be a fringe starter but most-likely a great back-up/utility man.
Andre Iguodala
-You should draft him if you're looking for a play-making guard who is an amazing athlete. Did I mention he can play defense too? Iguodala is a rare talent that could be compared to Stephen Jackson with better athleticism.
-You should not draft him if you're not looking for a SG. Other than some turnover issues, Iguodala is the top guard without question.
-You should expect Iguodala to lead a team offensively, defensively, and maybe in assists. He's got superstar written all over him.
Kevin Martin
-You should draft him if you're looking for scoring, scoring, and more scoring. Martin can finish strong at the rim and has a jumper that can only be placed behind Richard Hamilton. He's smart with the ball and very quick.
-You should not draft him if you're looking for a guy that creates for others or plays defense. Martin is very one-dimensional and probably won't evolve from that.
-You should expect him to probably make a few All-Star games because of the offense he'll generate.
Ben Gordon
-You should draft him if you're looking for a Kevin Martin-like scorer with some ability to the play the point as well. The ultimate combo guard, Gordon may be an amazing super-sub.
-You should not draft him if you want a guy that defend opposing starting guards. Gordon will be torched by SGs and PGs alike, so don't expect him to be a great starter on both ends of the court.
-You should expect Gordon to go late lotto to mid 1st round and struggle to find a place at the next level. He'll be stuck between two positions and probably play his best as a scoring spark.
Rashad McCants
-You should draft him if you want a scorer that could possibly develop some respectable defense. McCants can score, handle the ball a bit, and is an average defender.
-You should not draft him if you're worried about the rumors of him coming out early because of attitude issues at North Carolina. Scouts are very worried about his attitude.
-You should expect a team to take a chance on McCants late lotto or mid 1st round.
Tony Allen
-You should draft him for a great guard off the bench on your team. He plays excellent defense and finishes strong at the rim. Also shows great rebounding for a guard.
-You should not draft him if you are expecting a good shooter or ball-handler.
-You should expect Allen to be drafted late and help a team off the bench.
Devin Harris
-You should draft him because he's the next great, sure-fire stud PG of the league. He can score, pass, defend, and even rebound a bit. Think Preira minus the God powers.
-You should not draft him if you're not looking for a PG. Pretty simple. He's the top PG.
-You should expect him to be the top PG in the league in a few years.
T.J. Ford
-You should draft him if you miss out on Harris and want a guy that can still lead your team. Ford attacks the rim with ferocity in spite of his small stature. He's a great passer and a decent defender.
-You should not draft him because he's very small, some may say fragile, especially for his style of play. He's a bit turnover prone and isn't a very good shooter.
-You should expect him to be a very good starting PG in the future.
Sebastian Telfair
-You should draft him if you want to mold a young PG. While Telfair has some talent, his biggest advantage is his upside.
-You should not draft him if you'll need a PG in the near future. Much like Korolev, Telfair isn't ready for competition quite yet. Scouts are also worried about his lack of responsibility and childish antics.
-You should expect Telfair to land a spot on a team that can afford to either lose for awhile or grow a young PG into possibly a star at the next level.
Beno Udrih
-You should draft him if you're picking late in the first round and want a poor man's Sebastian Telfair.
-You should not draft him if you are expecting him to contribute right away.
-You should expect him to sit on the bench and learn from a veteran PG to possibly take over someday, but it's likely he'll remain on that bench and help out when needed.
Vassilis Spanoulis
-You should draft him if you're play and have a hard-on for him.
-You should not draft him because he sucks and will look completely lost in a real basketball league.
-You should expect him to only be good at shooting and never make it here, then run home to Greece.
