Sadly, the FA class has not live up to expectations. This list of the west has been compiled with more information based upon the signings that have occured. The does not include the big ostrich that is hanging over the nuggets as their team has a ticking time bomb in their trade with the nets soon to be processed. These facts, do not affect the overall crop of FA coming out. While there were a handfull of potential superstars that could come out, they didn't. And when the players coming off of rookie contracts is headlined by Mo and Boozer, you know this is going to be a weak FA group coming out of the west. While this may be the case, do not neglect there are many good, starting quality players that will be coming out that could very well put teams over teh top.
Centers: Really only having two notables. Juwan Howard and Wright both offer different looks. Both play good enough defense while wright is the younger and the better rebound artist of the two, though at the cost of offense.
Power Forward: Your only real choices is Rozier and Boozer. Boozer, while probably not worth a max, will probably get a max from some team believeing that the former #1 overall pick can turn himself around. Rozier is a solid defending and rebounding big that could help any team, and probably would not be horribly expensive.
Small Forwards:Not a whole lot of scorers, but a lot of decent enough players that can defend the perimeter and hit the open jumper. The closest thing resembling a scorer in this group is Paul Pierce, but this only means that this is the best part of his game.
SG: Montros is a good scorer but a poor defender and you still have the Chinese "answer" to Jordan waiting to get his next posting as a bench rotation player one an average team, or a starter on a desperate team.
PG: Here is the group that the west has in spades. Not only do you have Mo Williams, a player that will certainly get a max from somewhere, also has Jason Williams, Travis Best, NVE and Jason Terry. All are players that can help a team win, especially if all you need it that one floor general. Getting any one of these would, however, help any team without question.
