RESULTS:
1. Cleveland Cavaliers - Brandon Roy SG 6'6'' 207 22 B- B- C+ C+ C A
2. **FORFEIT**
3. Houston Rockets - Andrea Bargnani PF 6'11'' 240 20 C+ B C- C+ C- A
4. Charlotte Hornets - Rajon Rondo PG 6'2'' 171 20 B C- C+ B- C A
MOCK DRAFT:
5. Dallas Mavericks – LaMarcus Aldridge PF 6'11'' 234 21 B- C C- C+ B- A
Mavericks have a pretty nice starting lineup already, but LMA IMO is the best available player at this point, and really, I like the way he fits with the Mavs. West is expiring, so there’s a chance he could be dealt or signed by another team next season, which would open the door for LMA after playing backup and getting the hang of things for a year.
6. Detroit Pistons- Marvin Williams SF 6'9'' 230 20 B C+ D+ C+ C+ A
You could easily make the case that Marvin Williams is the 2nd best prospect in this draft. I think his upside and versatility makes him a very valuable asset to any team. He is the exact type of player you want when your team doesn’t have much direction. This could be one of the better picks in the draft right here, only time will tell.
7. Denver Nuggets - Tyrus Thomas PF 6'8'' 217 19 B C- D+ C+ C A
I absolutely love this pick for the Nuggets if this scenario plays out like I see it. Their frontcourt really lacks and explosive player with some athleticism. I think his shot blocking and knack of getting to the rim, will help Denver in the long run. If his potential is legit, then this will be a great pick up for the Nuggets.
8. Sacramento Kings - Martell Webster SF 6'7'' 210 19 B- B- C C+ C A
The Kings frontcourt could use any help at this point. And to be honest, I think Martell Webster is the last quality player left in this draft. Sure there will be some guys drafted behind him who might turn out better, but the top 8 players in my eyes kind of distanced themselves from the rest of the back. Webster should be a very dynamic player.
9. Washington Bullets - Yi Jianlian PF 7'0'' 230 18 C+ C+ C C+ C+ A
A team like the Bullets in total restart mode should mainly focus in getting very young pieces with tons of potential. Yi is exactly what they need. I could see them going with Livingston or Green here, but that would be a mistake IMO. I feel like Yi actually has a better chance of being a starter than Green or Livingston, but it’ll definitely be interesting to see how this plays out.
10. Philadelphia 76ers - Gerald Green SG 6'8'' 200 20 B- C+ C- B- C A
Tough spot for the 76ers, there’s not much talent left at this point, so I say go with the player who could help you the most in the future. Green would be the best bet here, if he could develop into that Tracy McGrady type player that some believe is possible, then this would be one hell of a steal for the Sixers.
11. Chicago Bulls - Shaun Livingston PG 6'7'' 195 21 B- C B B- C A
Bulls pick up one of the most developed players in this class. Even if Livingston doesn’t live up to the hype, I think Livingston could be a key piece on the Bulls way back up. While the outside shot isn’t there, the rest of his game is very attractive and advantageous for a PG.
12. San Antonio Spurs - Marcus Williams PG 6'3'' 215 20 C B- B+ C+ C- B
This is another tough spot to be in. Being loaded as they are, the Spurs could definitely use some PG insurance right now. Marcus has very nice ratings, but his upside is likely limited. Marcus Williams should be a good fit behind Devin Harris.
13. San Antonio Spurs - Thabo Sefolosha SG 6'6'' 213 22 C+ B- C- B+ C B
The Spurs don’t really have any team needs at this point, so go with the best player IMO. I feel like Thabo is that guy. Spurs will have plenty of young pieces and depth to make some deals to compete next season. Look for play to make some moves.
14. Portland Trailblazers – Kyle Lowry PG 6'0'' 185 20 B- C C+ B- D+ B
I could see this pick going a few ways. Blazers could use a more UOSLR ready guard like Lowry to help them get back on track. I wouldn’t be surprised if Portland went with Boobie or someone else.
15. Chicago Bulls – Oleksiy Pecherov PF 6'10'' 232 20 C- B- C+ C C+ A
We know tiger has a boner for the foreigners.
16. Indiana Pacers - Shannon Brown SG 6'4'' 200 20 B C+ C C C- A
Brown’s explosive play should complement Melo and Hedo nicely.
17.Phoenix Suns - Shelden Williams PF 6'9'' 258 22 B- C D B- B C
Suns could use some frontcourt help, but there isn’t much out there. Settling for Shelden is decent.
18. Washington Bullets - Daniel Gibson PG 6'2'' 190 20 C B C C D+ A
Bullets are starting from scratch so adding as much youth and upside is key.
19. Minnesota Timberwolves - Rodney Carney SF 6'7'' 204 22 B- C+ C- B C B
Twolves really need a SG, but going with best available is the smart thing to do here.
20. Denver Nuggets – Patrick O'Bryant C 7'0'' 249 20 C+ C- D B C+ C
This might be a stretch pick, but Nuggets really need a shot blocker to help with their frontcourt. Samb is also an option here.
21. Chicago Bulls - Adam Morrison SF 6'8'' 205 22 C+ B+ C C C B
Why not? His ratings are pretty nice, and if he gets camped he might turn out to be solid.
22. Los Angeles Clippers -David Noel SF 6'6'' 230 22 B+ C C B C C
They want to compete, Noel should help their cause.
23. Denver Nuggets - Jordan Farmar PG 6'2'' 171 19 C+ B- C C+ C- B
Nuggets got the players they need, now go with a player that is young and has some promising upside.
24. Cleveland Cavaliers - Josh Boone PF 6'10'' 237 21 B- C- C- C+ C+ A
They could use a solid backup PF/C, heck maybe Boone has some upside.
25. Chicago Bulls - Shawne Williams SF 6'8'' 227 20 B- B- D+ C+ C+ C
At this point, Tiger only cares about looking for steals. Shawne ftw?
26. Philadelphia 76ers –Leon Powe PF 6'7'' 245 22 C+ C- C- B- B- B
Sixers need to even out their roster, I like Powe here.
27. Atlanta Hawks - Renaldo Balkman SF 6'8'' 206 22 B- C C- B+ C B
Slippin slippin, Balkman drops down to 27, and Hawks get a nice pick.
28. Orlando Magic -Craig Smith PF 6'7'' 259 22 C+ C- D B- B- B
Magic frontcourt is currently thin, Smith should add some ensurance.
29. Golden State Warriors - J.J. Redick SG 6'5'' 190 22 C A- C C D+ B
JJ in an outside offense, he likes this situation.
1. Cleveland Cavaliers - Brandon Roy SG 6'6'' 207 22 B- B- C+ C+ C A
2. **FORFEIT**
3. Houston Rockets - Andrea Bargnani PF 6'11'' 240 20 C+ B C- C+ C- A
