Don't know if this topic has ever come up. But after seeing the K-State/Xavier, I just want people's opinion on the greatest games they ever saw. Could be any sport.
Mine are:
2006: Rutgers beats Louisville
Well I graduated from Rutgers and this was the first time Rutgers ever beat a school ranked so high. Went down to a fg in the closing seconds. Edo missed the fg but there was a penalty so he got a second try. Made the 2nd and got to see Rutgers make history. Too bad they lost to South Florida the following week.
2006: Rose Bowl: Texas vs. USC
Basically Vince Young vs. Reggie Bush. This was just an amazing game in general cause it kept going back and forth til Vince scored the winning TD in the final seconds.
1999: NBA Playoffs Rd 1 Gm 5 Knicks vs. Heat
Allan Houston's infamous floater to beat the #1 seeded Heat. I think it was one of the first times a 8 seed beat a 1 seed.
Those were off the top of my head. What are yours?

Lol I've only been to some padres games, a dodger game, blazer games, and duck games...
So my top 3:
USC @ Oregon 2007 (picked off dirty sanchez for the win, crowd was insane)
Oklahoma @ Oregon 2006 (unreal, too bad I left early lol)
Oregon State @ Oregon 2009 (Civil war for the Rose Bowl? someone pinch me)

Mets beat the Braves in 15 innings NLCS Robin Ventura walk off grand slam
Yankees beat Redsox ALCS Boone walk off homer. Pedro vs Clemens (only yankees game I've ever been to)
Lebron James first game at Madison Square Garden sat 15 rows off court and got tix for less than face 5 min before tip
St. John's beats Duke at MSG....Marcus Hatten sinks 2 FT with 0 time left
The Preakness- I was crazy drunk that event is nuts
CBA vs Seton Hall Prep NJ High School Basketball State Championship....CBA was 7th in the country and SHP was #5 in the country. SHP won on a buzzer beater with standing room only for the game. I was frosh in high school
I also stormed the court a few times at MSG too. I've seen some great Mets/Yankee games too.

I've been to a lot of Bama football, baseball and basketball games. A few Braves games too. Best game was probably Bama vs. Tennessee last year when Cody blocked the FG. There has been to many great moments in sports to name.

State Of Origin game NSW vs Queensland game 1 in 07 was a thriller of a game.. Atmosphere was intense!!
Also been to a couple super 14 games and NRL games. Rugby World Cup is going to be in NZ next year, might go to a game.. or just stand outside the stadium and party with the rest of the cheapos lol

#1 Lakers vs. Blazers in Game 7 comeback game in the first of our championships
#2 Angels vs. Giants, come back from 5 runs down in <3 innings to force game 7 and win it.
#3 Lakers vs. Spurs, Duncan Makes the game winner...almost. Then Fisher hits the 0.4 shot.

St. John's beat Louisville was a great game too. I stole a chair from Madison Square Garden then a cop stopped me outside of the arena and then I beat him in a foot race down 34th street into the subway for a clean get away....sad part was I dropped the chair in the process.

oh lol. i went to SHP, small world. are u talkin bout that game where SHP was down 2, some kid on SHP hit a corner 3 to win it? i think it was like 2002-2003 ish...if not then nvm
but pretty crazy if we went to the same HS

oh lol. i went to SHP, small world. are u talkin bout that game where SHP was down 2, some kid on SHP hit a corner 3 to win it? i think it was like 2002-2003 ish...if not then nvm but pretty crazy if we went to the same HS We were up 1, got the rebound off a missed SHP shot, guy stole it from behind and hit a shot falling down in the corner as time expired. It was nuts (heart breaking). Marcus Tony-El was the big star for SHP. It was 2000. SHP also beat us in state championship in baseball when Eric Duncan was there. He ripped a double to win the game. Damn you! |
