why? next season is his CY..he has to move at some point, he needs a rebounder....is he making the move early? yeah, but Butler isn't getting any younger not to mention that Mo Williams is expiring

He just ridded himself of any cap space he might have had in the offseason. Diop doesn't do anything particularly well and he has a bad contract. I didn't even get this much for Tyson Chandler and if he wanted rebounder and defender than Basone would have gladly traded Chipper Pryzbilla for probably what he gave here minus the firsts. This really puts the next GM in a huge hole. I think this trade is fire worthy considering the lack of anything chipper has brought to the table since he's been back. |

Then we bring in a new GM and he doesn't have his own firsts for 2 seasons and does jack in the league and does a stupid trade like this 2 seasons later and the vicious circle continues. Fire Chipper and bring in a solid GM.

I think this trade is fire worthy considering the lack of anything chipper has brought to the table since he's been back. 2 blocks and 11.7 rebounds with solid defense is nothing...yeah...ok did Chip overpay? yes, he paid two firsts, Diop, and his REBOUNDING is worth one, (he has improved since I sold him for one when I was tanking) Chip needs rebounding, and he still has Sullinger and Tyreke for the next GM, fairly certain that regardless Reke, Sully and Seattles pick will get his team enough to win for more than two years..... |

not to mention Diops rebounding numbers are deflated if anything, the Warriors have Bron, Fields and Blatche all good rebounders to great rebounders for their position, Diop is an excellent rebounder, and next year, he has to win 40 meaning that pick holds less value than standard, because Chip will have the job til the offseason, since the new GM will come in and have really only one year of no pick at worst, and that pick is top 10 protected anyway...he didn't give up this years pick

also how much expiring did Chip give up in this deal Kru? just wondering....2 million? since he'll probably bring back Mo Williams, he wasn't going to have cap anyway

Everything Broseph said is exactly my point here. And I plan on winning 40 next year and not tanking in 13 either. These are 2 non-lotto picks I just gave up.

meh, This deal is fine for Chipper.
Krup, you wanted Chipper to trade for Yi. From what I've been hearing you want a first for Yi, a player with no birds and the max that a team can offer him is 6mil....It's fine to be mad that he didn't do your deal but lol this deal is far from Veto worthy. I'm glad Chipper decided to gear up for next season.
