Strengths:[/u] Jones is an amazing finisher on the inside. His ability to get into the paint and finish above or around opposing player is scary. He is a nightmare to guard. Though he doesn't have a great crossover, his first step is amazing. His jump shot is very good, and he shoots a good free throw percentage, which is great considering his ability to penetrate and draw fouls. Weaknesses:[/u] He isn't a good passer, definitely needs to improve. His defense is very spotty. He'd rather play the passing lanes than stay in front of his man. He is a terrible rebounder, not because of lack of talent, but because he lacks the desire to look for them. He could use some extra time in the weight room. Scout's Take:[/u] Tyus Jones should become an excellent offensive threat, but it's really up in the air if he'll become a good distributor or defender. He may end up one-dimensional, but that one-dimension is sure to be great. Scouts feel like some nights his heart isn't there, while others he has the heart of a champion.
