The Top 10 prospects for the 1994 UOSLR Draft.
1. Jason Kidd 6-4 200 PG California
Potential Starting Ratings….C+ C B+ B+ C A
Kidd is an amazing ball handler, passer and defender. He will be an elite UOSLR Point Guard as a rookie and should be the #1 pick in the draft. Expect double digit assists from Kidd for the majority of his career as well as a spot on the 1st or 2nd All-defensive teams.
Possible Peak Ratings….B B- A+ A C C
2. Grant Hill 6-8 220 SF Duke
Potential Starting Ratings….B C B- C+ C A
Grant Hill is the only player that could challenge Kidd for the #1 spot. Hill is a superb scorer and ball handler for a bigger player. Hill should play Small Forward, but has the ball handling ability to move to Point Guard in a pinch. Not a great defender, Hill should become decent enough to be considered for All league teams in the future. His calling card is his offense.
Possible Peak Ratings….A- C+ B+ B C+ C
3. Glenn Robinson 6-7 220 SF Purdue
Potential Starting Ratings….B B- C- C+ C+ B
The Big Dog is ready to be a top 3 option scorer as a rookie. Robinson could score 20 points per game pretty easily as a rook, but his upside seems questionable. Not much on defense, Robinson is a solid rebounder and should be a 20-8 guy throughout his career even if his upside is limited.
Possible Peak Ratings….B+ B C B- B- C
4. Rasheed Wallace 6-10 220 PF North Carolina
Potential Starting Ratings….C+ C+ C B C+ A
Wallace is extremely raw but he brings a defensive element many of the other draft prospects mentioned don’t have. Because of this Wallace could jump up a bit in the draft. Wallace is a good defender and solid shot blocker who has offensive upside. His length and ability to shoot from 3 point range make him an extremely intriguing prospect.
Possible Peak Ratings… B B- C A- B C
5. Jerry Stackhouse 6-6 210 SG North Carolina
Potential Starting Ratings… B B- C- C C A
Stackhouse is another player with huge offensive possibilities who doesn’t like to defend. He is a high flyer who takes it to the rim with authority on offense, and also shows the ability to shoot from the perimeter and from long range. Offensively he looks great. On the other side of the ball he looks average. Doesn’t put the effort in on that side of the court.
Possible Peak Ratings…. B+ B+ C B- C C
6. Jalen Rose 6-8 205 SG Michigan
Potential Starting Ratings…. B- C+ C+ C C B
Rose, much like Grant Hill, is a Small Forward that can play a little Point Guard. Rose played lots of 1 at Michigan and probably fits best as a Shooting Guard with play making capabilities. A solid offensive player all around, Rose, like many in this class, suffers on the defensive side of things. Regardless he should be a very productive player in UOSLR.
Possible Peak Ratings…. B B B C+ C C
7. Brian Grant 6-9 250 PF Xavier
Potential Starting Ratings…. B- C C- B- B B
Gant is a very rugged rebounder who is solid offensively and adequate defensively. Grant is someone who should grab 10 boards as a rookie, and may become one of the better rebounders in the league one day. Not special offensively or defensively, grant should become a very good starter in the UOSLR.
Possible Peak Ratings…. B C C B B+ C
8. Juwan Howard 6-9 240 PF Michigan
Potential Starting Ratings…. B C C C+ C+ B
Another defensively challenged youngster, Howard is a very solid post scorer and decent rebounder. Howard is someone that could start from Day 1 and put up solid numbers, but is probably best suited for the bench or SF. Not the type of defender you want in the post.
Possible Peak Ratings…. B+ C C B- B- C
9. Donyell Marshall 6-9 215 SF Connecticut
Potential Starting Ratings…. B- C+ C- B- C+ B
Very long player with the ability to stretch his defender out to 3 point range. Very inconsistent on offense but should be a double digit scorer. Not a great man to man defender, but he will block shots and rebound well from either forward spot.
Possible Peak Ratings…. B B- C B+ B- C
10. Aaron McKie 6-5 200 SG Temple
Potential Starting Ratings…. C C+ C+ B C B
Aaron McKie is a role player. Not a super star on either side of the ball, but solid all around. McKie makes good decisions and takes good shots. An above average defender, McKie could start at Shooting Guard, or even more ideally, be a great combo guard backup.
Possible Peak Ratings…. C+ B- B- A- C C
