UOSLR GM Rankings
THE ELITE
1 - CC (Golden State Warriors GM)
CC was the easy pick for #1 so far, He has the 3 finals appearances, something no other current GM can boast about. In fact only 3 other current GMs have made it to the finals (any only once!). The warriors have a ridiculous playoff record of 54-28. Although the warriors are only the 3rd most winningiest team in UOSLR, it's hard to find someone who has done a better job GMing than CC.
2 - Spencer (Charlotte Hornets GM)
Once Spencer wins a championship, he'll be battling for that #1 spot. Spencer probably pulled off one of the most impressive rebuilding jobs I've seen in a while. Obviously starting with a creation draft help Spence get some leverage in rebuilding by trading his creation draft picks for youth and future firsts. But he also made some fantastic trades and smart draft choices to get where he is at right now. Morning, Malone, Johnson, Gamble and Adams is easily one of the most feared lineup in the league, if not THE most. With his mix of youth and veterans, I see the Hornets winning a couple championships in the near future. At the very least, some final appearances.
3 - Jusstaddwatrr (San Antonio Spurs GM)
One of the more solid GMs here, Just has one of the more balanced teams in this league. I really wanted to be Just at the #2 spot, not only because he won a championship, but more so because how he got there. Outside of Mark Jackson, Just didn't keep any of the players he drafted. In fact, he didn't even have top 10 pick, yet he managed to make some deals and get the right pieces to form a team functioning at full potential right now. The championship only verifies all the work he's put into this team. Another championship, and Just would be #1 on my list.
4 - Sagapolutele50 (Toronto Raptors GM)
At first, I was really disappointed with saga during the creation draft. He got lucky, won the lottery, and drafted Michael Jordan. But then everything just stopped. He was looking to add players, he wasn't looking to add some talent around Jordan to build an unbeatable team. Thankfully, after a while he started making some deals to improve his team and eventually it paid off. A ring. You might argue saga should be higher on this list, after all he does have the most wins in UOSLR history. However, I felt like the 3 GMs above him had to work harder to get where they did. Not trying to take anything away from what saga did, because he's done a great job, but he needs to prove me wrong with another championship.
THE GOOD
5 - Dashthemavfan13 (Boston Celtics GM)
Here is where the talent level takes a bit of a drop in my opinion. Dash is a fantastic GM, but the 4 above him all have something he doesn't: A final appearance. However, Dash has had is share of success including making it to the 2nd round 3 out of 4 years. Many GMs can't say that. Dash also have the 3rd most playoff wins. And don't you forget this all started out with the #24 pick in the draft. But he worked his magic and ended up with 4 2nd round draft picks, and a 3rd round draft pick, which proved to be gold. Hornysex was indeed that pick, he went #63 overall. If nothing good comes out of this run with Dash, he can die knowing Horneysex was the shit.
6 - Donatello2424 (Washington Bullets GM)
I generally hate ratings GMs that have a top 5 pick in a creation draft. Because once you get that stud big man or dominant guard on your team, you don't have to do much to show your a good GM. However, Don didn't just sit on the talent and do nothing. He drafted extremely well, including Maxwell and Avery Johnson in later rounds. With the dream you think the Bullets would be decorated team by now, right? Here's a stat that might surprise you, the Bullets have never made it to the conference finals, which comes as a big shock considering in 91 and 92, the Bullets were the most dominant team in the east. Don hit and missed, but he's bounced back well, setting himself up for the future. Peeler, Webber, Davis are a good start to future success.
7 - Csdude07 (Vancouver Grizzlies GM)
Although Csdude has only been here for a couple years, he's already turned the Grizzlies into contenders. You could easily argue csdude should be higher, and I wouldn't argue that. However, I've just not seen enough of him to give him more love. Shaq has pretty much guaranteed the Grizzlies a lifetime of success. Surrounded by players such as Strickland, Simmons, Houston, and Ellison, I see the Grizzlies as a big time force in this league.
8 - ApNeDtRiEeW (Indiana Pacers GM)
This might be a little high, but Andrew seems to also make the right deals. Sure he had it a bit rough in the playoffs, but he built some successful regular season teams. And after a few recently deals, he's set himself up tremendously well for the future. Mashburn, Sprewell, Roberts, and some projected lotto picks are looking pretty sexy right now. I'm confident Andrew will have this team winning in just a couple years.
9 - Tmaczdaddy1 (Seattle Supersonics GM)
I hate to put my brother in front of me, but what he's done in UOSLR so far has been very solid. He had a little luck on the way. Drafting a steal in Tarpley the 2nd round of the creation draft, then stealing Petrovic in FA because aar (former Rockets GM) didn't send in bids. But he's also made some smart moves on the way, and with Payton leading this team, they'll be contenders every year. Lack of frontcourt depth right now is hurting them a little, but they are a move or 2 away from being a top team.
10 - UOducksTK1 (Houston Rockets GM)
Who else to round the top 10, other than me? I won't lie, aar set me up with a pretty solid team. But I got even luckier after I landed the 2nd pick when I was projected to be 8th. However, I still had to make some big times move. First by trading for Clyde the glide. Then I signed Dominique Wilkins during the offseason. And the biggest move of all, I shipped Cwebb and Dale Davis for the dream. So far it's paid off, but if I don't win a championship within the next few years, it could all have been for nothing.
11 - Gotrunks226 (Minnesota Timberwolves GM)
I was thinking about putting trunks higher, but frankly, up until this last season, I haven't been impressed with him. But he's done a fantastic job the last year or two building together this team. The scariest part about this team, is that all of his starters (Except Barkley who is 31) are under 30. Timberwolves are already a dangerous team, and in 5 years, trunks could very well be a lot higher on this list. Adding some depth could be crucial to getting this team over the top.
THE OK
12 - mtg (Detroit Pistons GM)
Mike's team wins a lot. He's done a pretty good job so far. The best part is he's really been trying to add more pieces to improve his team. I got to give him credit for that. But his team is still a piece or two away right now. He needs to keep working to find that perfect match. Overall though, solid jump. He can thank Glen Rice for a lot that.
13 - DB (New York Knicks GM)
Dan has actually made a lot of solid moves and has built a really good team, but they seem to constantly underachieve. Dan's luck in the playoffs has been miserable. 3 appearances with only 3 victories to show for it. Dan is still in the middle of the pack because he can't seemingly get over the hump. Will this finally be the year he'll make it to the 2nd round?
14 - shaunkol (Orlando Magic GM)
Shaun is finally reaching his potential. Early in this league, shaun wasn't around much and his team wasn't doing good. But not only has he picked it up in terms of activity, but his team has also picked it up. I personally think his team is overachieving right now, but hey they are on rate to win their division, and none of the teams ranked below him can say that.
15 - mops (Denver Nuggets GM)
His team has been solid over the years. He's made a lot of smart moves and nice picks. But right now, he's got to step it up a bit. His team is young sure, but he'll still need to at that star and add some more fire power to be a legit contender. A couple more moves and we could be seeing more of the Nuggets.
16 - allstar (Cleveland Cavaliers GM)
If allstar actually traded and made some moves, his team could be good, but right now they are just OK. One thing going for this team is they are extremely young, so allstar at least has them going in the right direction. But I'd still like to see him do more.
17 - Brophdog88 (New Jersey Nets GM)
Although Broph's team is kinda stuck between rebuilding and competing, I love the fact that he's been doing a lot of moves by making this team younger. He's only been here for 2 years I think, but already he's done a better job than a handful of GMs who have been here since day 1.
THE BAD
18 - Jahallstar (Phoenix Suns GM)
Jah's team actually looks pretty solid on paper, but considering he started out with the 7th pick in the creation draft, and has only managed 3 playoff wins so far is pretty sad. Jah should be doing better, he sucks so far in UOSLR.
19 - Martinez (Sacramento Kings GM)
Had some success early on, but now his team sucks. Kidd is a good start, but they don't have much more to work with. All martinez does is talk shit, but he never performs. He says UOSL sucks, and that the GMs here suck, yet he's done one of the shittiest jobs here for a GM who has been here since the start? Lol, loser.
20 - Idlewildsouth70 (Dallas Mavericks GM)
It's still early to really determine Idle's worth at this point. But his team is in the playoff hunt right now and they do have some solid youth. Time will tell.
21 - Crazymike2021 (Los Angeles Clippers GM)
Mike might bother the hell out of me, but he's done a really good job by blowing up this team. He'll get to start all over, so he'll finally get to prove his worth.
22 - TheSchmaranz (Miami Heat GM)
Still too early to rank Schmaranz anywhere, but at least he hasn't done anything dumb. I'm still waiting for him to make some moves, because his team lacks direction right now.
23 - AllHailManiac (Philadelphia 76ers GM)
Now would be a good time to do something. Maniac has done good in other league, but he's never done shit here. I hope he proves me wrong, otherwise maybe it's time to bring bluedevils back.
THE WORST
24 - Claat10 (Los Angeles Clippers GM)
I actually like cllaatsch and love what he brings to the league in terms of activity. But his GMing skills so far haven't really proved me anything other than his team still sucks. I'm hoping he can turn it around, because he has potential to be a good GM in this league. But right now, it ain't working.
25 - Chipperboy18 (Atlanta Hawks GM)
His team was set up so nicely and was full of youth and another potential top pick. Yet he traded away the core of his team for a turnover whore Chris Mullin. He still has Cassell and Dice, but he could have had so much better.
26- W6602876 (Milwaukee Bucks GM)
Hasn't done shit so far. His team is finally starting to look nice, but he better hurry because the CY is just around the corner.
THE N00BS
27- Tigertecz (Chicago Bulls GM)
He's a phony!
28- Jayborne (Utah Jazz GM)
5 rings from UOSL2.
29 - Outlawz (Portland Trailblazers GM)
Don't mess with him.
...
∞ - Cwizz
He's set an all time high standard for sucking. He will always be remembered.
