1. Los Angeles Clippers - Rasheed Wallace PF 6'10'' 225 20 C+ C+ C- B+ C+ A
This draft has no clear-cut #1, and the Clippers definitely need help everywhere, even PG (not sure Ward is the answer). They could go a number of ways here, but I think they take the best defensive big man in the draft. Wallace is a unique player with an intriguing skill-set. He should be very good for them.
2. Milwaukee Bucks - Zydrunas Ilgauskas C 7'3'' 260 20 B- C C- B- C+ A
The Bucks are in a bad situation. They have their contract year coming up, and have a lot of holes. I could very well see them trading out of this pick for some sure-fire studs to help them get 40 next season, but if not, I think they go with the best Center in the draft. Big Z could look very nice next to Grant Hill.
3. Chicago Bulls - Glenn Robinson SF 6'7'' 225 21 B B- C- C+ C A
The Bulls are another team that need a lot of work, but they have the luxury of a multi-season cushion. They could use a big, but I think the temptation of a Robinson/Rider scoring tandem is too much to pass up. They get probably the most UOSLR-ready player in the draft at #3.
4. Milwaukee Bucks (from Lakers) - Jerry Stackhouse SG 6'6'' 218 20 B- C+ C B- C A
Once again, the Bucks should probably trade out of this pick, but if they don't, you got to go with Stackhouse here. A good scorer that can also D up? And he's only 20? Z/Hill/Stack would be great for the future, but unfortunately w doesn't have that luxury right now.
5. Portland Trailblazers - Antoine Walker SF 6'8'' 225 18 C+ B- C C+ C A
For some reason, I can see Outlawz selecting Walker here. His team is nowhere near competing next year, so choosing Walker would allow him to tank again and develop a very raw prospect. Walker could be special and depending on Best's development, there could be a good, young tandem for awhile in Portland.
6. Indiana Pacers - Joe Smith PF 6'10'' 225 19 C+ C C- B C+ A
You have to take Joe Beast here. Great value with the #6 and it fills a large need for Indiana. Roberts/Beast/Mashburn/Sprewell is an amazing young squad that could actually make the playoffs next season. Very good opportunity here for the Pacers.
7. Sacramento Kings - Juwan Howard PF 6'9'' 245 22 B C C B+ C+ B
Martinez needs everything but a PG and he can get one of the most ready forwards in the draft here. Juwan should be a very good player in UOSLR and would be a good option for the Kings. With Kidd/Howard with some cap space, martinez could have a solid squad next season.
8. Indiana Pacers (from Hawks) - Dejan Bodiroga SF 6'9'' 212 22 C B+ C- C+ C A
The Pacers really don't need much anymore other than depth, so I don't see them holding on to this pick, but if they do, they draft the best available player with the highest upside. That's definitely Bodiroga here. Much like Danilovic several years ago, Bodiroga has a great outside game and solid defense. The only difference is Bodiroga has more size and could give defenses trouble. Purely a value pick here.
9. Cleveland Cavaliers - Randolph Childress SG 6'2'' 188 22 C+ B C+ C D+ A
I can't see allstar keeping this pick because it could probably get him some solid players out there, but if he decides to keep it, he probably goes with Childress here. Chapman is decent, but I'm not sure he's the future. Childress has a nice combo skill-set with some nice upside. Could be a good pick here.
10. Miami Heat - Ed O'Bannon SF 6'8'' 222 22 B C C B- C A
A difficult pick here, but I think Heat have to go with O'Bannon. They are weak at the SF position so O'Bannon could start for them. His game is somewhat limited right now, but he should have a good upside to him. With some care, he could become a good 4th starter.
11. Dallas Mavericks - Damon Stoudamire PG 5'10'' 171 21 C B+ B C+ C- B
It seems like Idle has been sucking for awhile. He actually had a good run this season, but his team still isn't good enough. He can finally get a true PG here with the Mouse. Best PG in the draft and probably the best available at this pick, the Mavericks get a good pick-up here late in the lotto.
12. New Jersey Nets - Theo Ratliff C 6'10'' 225 22 C+ C- C- B C+ B
The Nets, who always seem to strive to win, should probably trade this pick for talent, but if they don't, Ratliff is a good pick here. He gives them good depth and a solid frontcourt rotation.
13. Golden State Warriors - Dragan Tarlac C 6'10'' 265 22 B+ C D C C+ B
Tough pick for CC here. Lots of good roleplayers left, so he can choose from a wide-range of talent; however, Daugherty is aging fast and just asked for a monster contract. It may be tough to bring him back, especially in a rebuilding environment. Dragan looks a lot like a poor man's Daugherty.
