Centers
Theo Ratliff - Great defender with a solid rebounding game. Not much on the offensive end, but can get you some solid numbers. Outside chance at becoming a solid starter in the league, most likely a good bench player.
Dragan Tarlac - Very good at scoring in the low post. A solid rebounder who's improved over the last few years. Decent jump shot. Not much of a defender. Could see some big minutes due to his scoring ability.
Bryant Reeves - Very strong inside. Will fill the paint. Instant offense down low. A solid defender but subpar defender. Probably a good 6th man in the future.
Greg Ostertag - He can block some shots and get a few boards. That's about it. His shot-blocking will probably see him go mid-1st. Could be a good rotation guy.
Rashard Griffith - Scouts like his upside. Very good rebounder. Should end up as nice frontcourt depth in the future.
Power Forwards
Gary Trent - Very young, but not as promising as scouts had hoped he would be. Trent is committed to disproving that, so his work ethic is good. Nice scorer but pretty undersized. Might be a good bench player.
David Vaughn - Not much upside, but definitely an instant contributor. Much like an Ervin Johnson type, Vaughn should prove useful to a contending team with his defense and rebounding.
Julius Michalik - Very interesting player. One of the best shooters in the draft as a big man. He doesn't have much weight too him, but he's pretty slow, so don't expect him to be a SF. Not much of a defender, but has great court-vision for his size. A few teams might take a chance on him to see what happens.
Mario Bennett - Great inside scorer but not much else. His defense is solid, but he isn't a great positional defender. His possible upside may entice a few teams later on in the 1st Round, but don't expect him to be anything but a good scorer off the bench.
John Amaechi - Could be a nice roleplayer for a team. Definitely worth selecting early in the 2nd. A good ball-handler, if you know what I mean.
Small Forwards
Dejan Bodiroga - Scouts are crazy over this guy, as they often are with foreign players. They love his size and shooting-range. His upside and shooting should see him going late-lotto.
Ed O'Bannon - The star of UCLA has gone a bit unnoticed, but don't sleep on him. Scouts are very impressed with his work ethic, but he'll need to improve his shooting to become a starter in this league. Definitely not out of the realm of possibility.
Corliss Williamson - Do you know where he got his nickname, Big Nasty, from? They say Corliss was so big and nasty when he was in 7th Grade, that a high school coach mistook him for a freshman and put him on the team, where he went on to dominate for five games before they realized their mistake. The guy is undersized, but he can play. Should be a great 6th man one day.
Sherrell Ford - A very impressive all-around game, one of the best in the class. Scouts say he should have declared a year earlier, but they still feel he has an outside shot at being a starter some day.
Ray Jackson - An underrated member of the "Fab Five", Jackson should be a nice roleplayer somewhere in the league. Don't expect much in the upside department, though, scouts feel he's close to peaking.
Shooting Guards
Randolph Childress - Ranked as the second best SG in the draft class due to his combination of skills and potential. Scouts like his combo-guard game and think he has the ability to be a nice starter some day. Don't be surprised if he goes in the lotto.
Shawn Respert - Very good scorer, but that's about it. His scoring should earn him a spot on a team where he'll be an instant spark off the bench, but he won't develop much of a game anywhere else.
Bob Sura - Guy plays with a lot of passion. Could possibly be a PG despite the fact it takes him three spin moves and 7 seconds to get past the halfcourt line. One of the better perimeter defenders in the draft and is an impressive rebounder for his size.
Fred Hoiberg - If you need a shooter/defender off the bench, then look no further. Hoiberg is your guy. He will definitely find a spot on a team somewhere and provide crucial minutes.
Jimmy King - One of the more overrated members of the "Fab Five" in my opinion, but might become a nice bench player some day. At the very least, he can help you manage your finances.
Point Guards
Damon Stoudamire - The Mouse is the best PG in the draft. He can shoot the ball and is a good distributor. He's a bit undersized, but that shouldn't be a problem. Probably a late-lotto pick.
Eric Snow - Ew. I guess he's alright technically, but I can't stand him. I think I could beat him one on one. Anyways, good distributor and defender, Snow has a promising future as a back-up.
Tony Miller - Maybe not much upside with this one, but if you need a guy to effectively distribute the ball off the bench, then Miller is a good candidate. He won't be much help offensively or defensively though.
Frankie King - Pretty much a SG in a PG's body. Great leaping ability with an outstanding knack for finishing at the rim with contact. Consistent jump shot but lackluster from outside the arc. Has a strange gift for rebounding. Think if Rodman were 6' tall. Well, not quite that good. Scouts are down on his upside though because of his skills not really matching his position.
