Larry Johnson- Already a three time all-star participant in four year year stint with the Hornets, has earned all-second and all-third team honors on a team loaded with talent. LJ has certainly proved himself to be a leader on and off the court and has an excellent inside-outside game, solid reboudner, and good defender. Should put up over 25/9 the next few years as a small forward. Should be getting the max.
Jimmy Jackson- Another youngster from the 1991 draft, Jackson has shown steady improvement as he led the Nuggets to the playoffs last season putting up just over 20 points per game on 46% shooting from the field, JJ should be able to play shooting guard or small forward and he will definitely provide good numbers from the field for any team, another player that would get the max.
Chuck Person- MJ's second hand man is looking to cash in this season and perhaps lead a team of his own. Not the greatest defender out there but he can certainly get it done on the offensive end of the court. Person may certainly demand a lot of money, it would be interesting to see if a team offers it to him.
Rod Strickland- He probably doesn't get a lot of attention but he is certainly a threat to score on a team with Shaq and Houston. A good ball distributor and a good defender Strickland is looking to cash in and it might take a big contract to see him walk away from Vancouver but it may be worth it if you need a point guard.
Gary Payton- The glove is looking for a pay day but a good chance exists that he'll return back to Seattle. Payton is a great two way player that can take his man off the dribble and score from beyond the arc. Finishing last season with his best performance of his career at 17.5 points per game and 9.3 assists per game GP could be looking for a lot of money.
Mahmo Abdul-Rauf- Praying five times a day, Rauf is a great clubhouse leader. The do it all guard doesn't get that much attention but he's an important player to the Heat's success. Rauf wants to resign in Miami but is testing the free agency to waters to see who will overpay for him.
Drazen Petrovic- Another guard out in Seattle this international sensation has taken his game to another level this off-season as he paired up with Gary Payton as one of the most dangerous backcourts in the West. Though Drazen may not want to leave Seattle, if he gets an offer he can't pass up he'll certainly look to cash in.
Kenny Anderson- A good shooter and defender, Anderson has put up good numbers as a Cavalier. Where will Anderson go next season is a question but a solid point guard like Anderson could help any team.
Charles Oakley- In a free agency mostly full of guards, the Oakman stands as one of the better forwards to get in the off-season. One of the great rebounders of the league Oakley and is a sure double-double man for almost any team in the league.
Honorable mention:
John Williams
Jerome Lane
Dell Curry
Henry James
Avery Johnson
Haywood Workman
John Starks
