Scouts have been watching Anthony Parker closely, who's had his ups and downs overseas. Off to a slow start with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Parker found himself a bench player for the struggling squad. After one season, Parker bought the remainder of his contract out with the help of FC Barcelona. Since joining the club in 1998, Parker has become one of the league's most prominent players.
In 1998, Parker started for only half of the club's games, but still finished the season averaging 14 PPG, 4 RPG, 4 APG, and 1.5 SPG. He helped to lead the club to an ACB championship.
In 1999, however, Parker suffered a hyper-extended shoulder that caused him to miss 3/4 of the ACB season, luckily, FC Barcelona was one of the clubs selected to compete in the Euroleague. Parker returned to lead FC Barcelona to a final four appearance in the Euroleague, averaging just over 17 PPG in the tournament.
After two years at FC Barcelona, Parker is now eligible to buyout his remaining contract years. The Orlando Magic own his draft rights, and if they so choose, they could buy out his contract now, a hefty 10 Million price tag, which covers both remaining years for his oversea team. Otherwise, Parker won't be eligible for UOSLR until 2002.

wow, i really like the wrinkle of overseas players.
let me ask you a couple of questions ashes, just so i know whats going on.
if i DONT buy him out now; does he join my team at the beginning of the 2002 season?
does he get a rookie contract?

Ok, so to bring him over this year, you will have a $10,000,000 cut salary. He will have a three year rookie contract. If you choose to not bring him over, he will join your team in the 2002-2003 season, with a three year rookie contract.
