1. Vancouver Grizzlies - LeBron James SF 6'8'' 240 18 B+ C+ B C+ C+ A
The no-brainer pick here. LeBron James gets drafted #1 no matter who else is on your team or what your needs are. The Grizzlies go from one superstar to build around (Shaq) to the next big superstar to build around (LeBron). Must be nice!
2. Los Angeles Lakers - Dwayne Wade SG 6'5'' 210 21 B C+ C+ B+ C A
Scary to think the Lakers could have added Wade to Gasol AND Duncan AND Wallace. Unfortunately for them, the deal was overturned, but I think they'll be just fine with adding a future superstar in Dwayne Wade. Pretty easy pick here, not only one of the BPA but also a position of need.
3. Denver Nuggets - Emeka Okafor PF 6'10'' 252 20 B- D+ D+ A- B+ B
Mops picks up a much needed big man to help him with his push to making the playoffs. Okafor satisfies the future with that position, but also comes in and makes immediate impact for the Nuggets. Exactly what they need.
4. Charlotte Hornets - Jameer Nelson PG 6'0'' 190 21 C+ B C+ B- C- A
Hornets pretty much need a player everywhere, so what better position to start with than PG? Well maybe C, but there aren't any worth this high of a pick, so the Hornets take Nelson with the #4. He should be their future PG for the next 10 years.
5. Los Angeles Clippers - Kirk Hinrich PG 6'3'' 190 22 C B+ C+ B C- A
The Clippers is another team that needs a lot of help. They have Yao Ming and that's about it. Hinrich is a guy that can come start right away, and has a bright future. Clippers get their PG, or possibly even a SG, of the future.
6. Toronto Raptors - Danny Granger SF 6'8'' 225 20 C+ C+ C- B C+ A
Raptors have done well to assemble a frontcourt and they somewhat have their backcourt under control. What they need a SF, and they picked the right draft for that. The Raptors draft by both position of need and upside here by taking the less UOSLR-ready Danny Granger. He could end up being the franchise for Toronto, just needs some direction and attention.
7. Indiana Pacers - Chris Kaman C 7'0'' 255 21 B- C D C+ B A
The Pacers go ahead and take the White Terror, Chris Kaman. Kaman will be an immediate help and he bolsters the Pacers frontcourt. Perhaps a return to the ole' Luc Longley days for the Pacers? Quite possibly.
8. San Antonio Spurs (from UTA) - Josh Howard SF 6'6'' 203 23 C+ B- C B C A
It's really not fair that the Spurs get to add two lottery picks to their current roster, but that's how the cookie crumbles. The Spurs pick up a much needed SF that should be a good starter for them for years to come.
9. Minnesota Timberwolves - Channing Frye C 6'11'' 248 20 C+ B C- B- C+ A
The TWolves need a big man if they hope to rise back to glory, so they go with the best C available. Frye is not only talented, but has a lot of upside, so the Wolves get great value on this pick. Frye should provide some much needed help down low (kind of in Frye's case).
10. Boston Celtics - James White SG 6'7'' 190 20 B C+ C C+ C A
The Celtics franchise has been pretty bad. Through rough luck and a wait and see attitude, they've put themselves in a bad position with little talent on their roster. They have a young SF in Nocioni and a decent PF in Scola, but they need to get a guy that can fill the stands. The Celtics take White here and take a gamble on him being their SG of the future based on his upside.
11. San Antonio Spurs (from WAS) - Mickael Pietrus SG 6'6'' 200 21 C+ B- C B C- A
Already got Josh Howard, why not get his French-Caribbean counterpart? The Spurs are solid at SG, but could use an injection of youth. Pietrus should be a great addition and help solidify an already pretty decent team and line-up.
12. Los Angeles Clippers (from PHI) - David West PF 6'9'' 240 22 B C C- B+ B B
Crazymike sneaks back into the picture to pick up a much needed PF. The Clippers need a PF pretty badly since I don't think Kwame is their answer. David West is the best available and will come in and immediately produce. Him and Yao should make a scary inside-scoring duo.
13. Charlotte Hornets (from CLE) - Darko Milicic PF 7'0'' 245 18 B- C- C- B- C+ A
Spencer would love to take Boris Diaw here, but I don't see how he passes on Darko. Lots of questions about his future, but it's hard to pass on the chance of a promising player, just like Kwame a few years back. Darko has the size and has shown a bit of talent, but his upside is questionable.
