Yeah but how much impact can Dirk bring to a team compared to Preira? Any fringe playoff team will probably be competing with Preira. Isn't that the goal of being a GM? To win? considering Dirk can play 3 different positions and create mismatches because his ability to shoot the 3.. also a really good rebounder and shoots great percentages.. no reason why he can't get better and the +5 he's going to get is only going to help I'm not denying Dirk's ability at all, he's a great player, and my only knock on him is his D. Preira can legitimately play all five positions and will take any team with a supporting cast right to the top. Dirk would need another superstar to just try and compete (J-Kidd hello), but even then needs so much more to win.

Of course, but chances are that a rebuilding team with the type of talent you are looking for in return isn't ready to compete even with Preira on board. That, and the fact that you will never get fair value for him. Unless you bring in Kobe, and perhaps Wade/LeBron depending on what they do in their TCs Plus you are probably asking for that teams main trading pieces, so the chance that they can get good players to surround EP without those players would be highly unlikely.

I mean both will be top players in this league, but neither will reach Preira's level. Why go for the long ass rebuild when you can do it in one year?

I should've played Preira at the 2 lol. He would've shut Kobe down. Oh, I thought you had them matched up at the 2... Damn. That would have been nasty if so Yeah but it didn't seem right. I had Maxwell there because although he lost a lot of his offensive game, he's still a top tier defender in this league. To be fair he didn't do a bad job, just not a great one. Not saying we would've won with Preira at the 2 though anyway. Heat seemed to have our numbers in the regular season as well as the postseason.
