It's impossible to throw a ball 30-40 yards and not expect a goalie to block it when he only has to cover 24 x 8 foot box, so yes it is impossible.
I guess, it means what directly means. Someone has to touch it of course, like the goalie did in that video.

if an opponent, including the goalkeeper, touches the ball then in essence play has restarted. You can not score from a throw-in directly, which is the point everyone was making and the point of this thread.
I think it's pretty obvious that if a ball is touched on a throw-in and goes into goal then it is valid and no one is disputing that.
Though that video and what that kid did was not only an illegal throw-in it probably would have netted him at the very least a yellow card under FIFA law.

Yea, i knew that it had to be touched someone. I thought you meant, the throw in had to be a pass and couldn't be targeted towards goal.

no I did not misunderstand anything... the point of this thread was scoring directly from a throw-in in both basketball and futbol... and then he shows me a video of some uni soccer game where some guy did a bunch of stupid flips that would have gotten him ejected from a FIFA game lol

There is a guy I think that plays for Stoke City in the EPL, I think his name is Delap, his throw-ins are like corner kicks lol..

I played with this kid in high school that was a sniper from the corner. Didn't center teh ball, the kicked it straght in from the corner, was the damnedest thing.
