Strengths:[/u] Good scorer. Can penetrate and cause trouble in the paint, or he can step back and hit the jumper. Good three-point shooter, as well. Has good court vision, but even better ball-handling skills and quickness. Will cause a lot of problems for opposing teams. Weaknesses:[/u] Poor defender. Not that he doesn't have the ability to play defense, but he'll often let his man blow right by him. Will gamble for a few steals, but not too impressive. Defensive footwork needs a lot of work. Not a very strong guard, will probably be pushed around. Scout's Take:[/u] Many feel Van Exel made the right decision to declare early. Could have the potential to be a top 5 PG at the next level. Should go in the top 7. Ratings:[/u] Nick Van Exel PG 6'1'' 170 20 C+ B- B+ C C- A

No guys can turn a bad program into a playoff team outside of Shaq but theres lots of guys who down the road can be studs.

Solid, although I feel like NVE could be a semi-bust.
