#1 - Alonzo Mourning C 6'10'' 240 22 B- C- C- A- B- A
The obvious pick for the Hornets here, best player available and will definitely be a star in this league.
Hornets were lacking a real big man, and Zo will do exactly what the they are looking for...
Teams are thanking God that Shaq stayed in school for one more year, or else Zo/Shaq would have ruled UOSLR
#2 - Jamal Mashburn SF 6'8'' 240 19 B B- C- C+ C A
Hornets also own the #2 pick, and selected Mashburn. Jamal made a late entry into the draft, so the Hornets were fortunate to land this very solid player. With this pick the Hornets are ready to compete now and for the future.Still with 3 picks left in the draft I do expect the Hornets to make so moves to improve there team....
#3 - Latrell Sprewell SG 6'5'' 190 21 C+ B- C B D A
Solid pick here... This fills a huge need for the Hawks at the 2 position.
I don't know if he was the "best" player availble, but certainly helps out the Magic. Also looked like the Hawks needed a SF, but not many left with the "star" potential.
#4 - Terrell Brandon PG 5'11'' 180 22 C+ B+ B C+ C- B
Denver selected a PG with this selection, kinda puzzling with Douglas at the PG position already, so I guess look for Nuggets to deal Douglas' expiring contract for some more rebuilding tools.
TB's ratings are very solid, and very hard to pass up on, Denver will be hoping that TB has some sort of potential, if so this is a very good pick...
#5 - Christian Laettner PF 6'11'' 235 22 B- C+ C B C+ A
Suns are lacking a SF right now, and I expect Laettner will move into the position and fill the need.
Ratings look like a top 2-3 pick, but potential is the big question if Suns are to draft him.
Bringing him in should also take some of the load off Coleman(who has been nearly averaging 4 Turnovers per game as the #1 option for the Suns).
#6 - Harold Miner SG 6'5'' 210 21 B C+ C C+ C A
With this pick, the Lakers would get the much-needed SG who can score, and score a lot.
Miner was a star in college, averaging 20ppg in all 3 season's at USC, if Miner can translate those stats he could be a top scorer in UOSLR for a long time... Right now, Adams is carrying the whole load, and averaging 3.9 TOPG, drafting Miner would help a bunch.
#7 - Nick Van Exel PG 6'1'' 170 20 C+ B- B+ C C- A
The Wolves depth at PG is laughable, picking a PG is a no-brainer..
And with Brandon already taken, this would be the logical choice...
NVE doesn't turn the ball over much, and is a great distributor and outside shooter.. Weidong/Smith/NVE would be a solid core to build around
#8 - Robert Horry SF 6'9'' 220 21 C B- C B+ C+ B
Bucks need any kind of big they can get their hands on, Horry is 6-9 and would be a solid PF for them. Ellis/Murray should be 2 other players the will be looking at hard, but I expect Horry to be the player they pick. Can't go wrong with a great defender/rebounder who can shoot...
#9 - Tracy Murray SF 6'8'' 225 20 C B C- C+ C A
Mavs are lacking just about every position but PG and C, and even 1 of those positions starters is 32... So the Mavs will be looking for the best player available, who I think is Murray(who can shoot and play some defense), and only 20 with some potential...
#10 - P.J. Brown PF 6'11'' 255 23 C+ C C B+ C+ A
Cavs will be looking for a big man to go along with Shawn Kemp, I think it's down to Ellis and PJ Brown here.
Kemp already provides the offense, so I think the better pick would be PJ Brown, who is probably the best defender in this class and can still play some offense/rebound at the same time..
#11 - LaPhonso Ellis PF 6'8'' 240 22 B- C C- B- C+ B
Missing another big man to go along Gilliam, Ellis is the best available big man left, although both seem like PG's, I'm sure one of them could make the move to SF or Center.
Ellis provides almost everything you would need in a big man.
#12 - Tom Gugliotta PF 6'10'' 240 22 C+ C+ C C B- B
After drafting Laettner earlier, the Suns decide to stick to the all-white draft so far.
Having no SF's right now, they would be getting a very versatile player in Googs, and a great scorer... Although defense is a problem, he should learn to develop some defense with all the good defenders on the team right now...
#13 - Clarence Weatherspoon PF 6'6'' 240 21 B- C C- C+ B B
Although this doesn't seem like a good pick, it would be even worse if they drafted anything but a big man here. Already at the PG-SG-SF positions this pick should provide help to the lone big man right now(Kevin Willis). I also wouldn't be surprised if we saw a Sean Rooks siting at this pick
#14 - Doug Christie SG 6'6'' 200 22 C+ C+ C B+ C B
Hornets have NO guards who can defend, Christie is a B+ defender so he an immediately make an impact there with the Hornets.
Would be a perfect pick if this were the situation.
#15 - Walt Williams SF 6'8'' 220 22 C+ B C C+ C B
Jazz only have 1 SG and 1 SF right now and neither are above C defense. Walt will give them a lot of offense, and at least give them some sort of defense at that position.
#16 - Sean Rooks C 6'10'' 250 22 B- C- C- B- C+ B
A very nice Center, if this is the draft that the Wolves would actually get, I'm sure they'd be very pleased.. Rooks again, gives them the depth at C that they really don't have...
