2010 UOSLR Mock Draft Rankings
1. John Wall PG 6'4'' 195 20 B C+ B- B- C- A
Consensus #1 pick. A no-brainer decision right here. He's got incredible speed in the open court and does most of his work attacking the basket. He's got good handles and has great court vision. He's going to a team general in a few years and is going to be one of the best PG in the league.
2. Jared Sullinger PF 6'9'' 265 19 B+ D+ D C C+ A
A late early-entry to the draft, Sullinger is the type of big man teams have been dreaming for. His skills on the defensive end needs a lot of work but he's an incredible interior force down low. He's going to be an offensive threat for years to come.
3. Paul George SF 6'8'' 210 20 C+ B D+ B- C+ A
This is where the lines are blurred a little bit. It's a toss up at this point of the draft between the 3 SF. I'd say George is the most ready and if it weren't for his lack of handles, he'd be locked as a top 3 pick. He's got a nice outside shot and is a good defender/rebounder to make up for the poor handling.
4. Al-Farouq Aminu SF 6'9'' 215 20 B- C+ C- C+ B- A
Two words: Freak Athlete. He's got a huge wing span and that length allows him to play both forward positions. It also translates rebounding wise and defensively, as well. He's got a nice offensive game going and is a great asset for a team looking for huge upside. The only down side with his game is probably his inability to handle the ball. This won't affect him too much playing the forward position, though.
5. Gordon Hayward SF 6'8'' 210 20 C+ B C+ C C A
This year's SF crop is just solid. All 3 of these prospects have great size and are all 20 with tremendous upside. Hayward is a warrior. He's probably the most ready to lead a team. He's got great hands and has a nice perimeter game going. It's questionable as to whether he will be a very good defender, though.
6. Ed Davis PF 6'9'' 225 21 C+ D+ D- B C+ A
Has a UOSLR ready body but still needs to work on many aspects of his game. He's a good defender and has nice upside. He's got the tools and raw ability to be a success.
7. Hassan Whiteside C 7'0'' 235 21 C+ D D+ B C+ A
Similar to Davis but his game is more questionable IMO. He's got similar ratings and has a much bigger body but he's a bit flimsy for a 7 footer. Many people think he's a much better/polished Hasheem Thabeet, who was drafted last season.
8. Xavier Henry SG 6'6'' 220 19 B- C+ D C+ C A
This is a very risky pick. A SG who does not focus at the perimeter and has very poor hands and ability to create for his teammates. He's only 19 so the sky is the limit for him. A lot of scouts believe he'll be able to play the SF if his handles don't improve.
9. Wesley Johnson SF 6'7'' 205 23 B- B- C B- C B
One of the most ready prospects available in the draft. He won't be a star but he'll be an immediate impact for whoever drafts him. He's got good size but he's a lot older than many of the SF available.
10. Greg Monroe PF 6'10'' 247 20 B- C- C+ C+ C+ A
Greg's got the raw tools to be one of the best bigs in the league. He's got incredible hands for a big man and has a great body to be physical down in the lost post.
11. Jeff Teague PG 6'2'' 180 21 B- B- C+ C+ D+ B
A terrific pick at this point of the draft. He's got the tools to be a good PG and has the size and quickness. He's a bit shoot first and tends to look for his shot before creating for his teammates.
12. Donatas Motiejunas PF 7'0'' 224 20 C+ B- D+ C+ C A
Another 7 footer who plays like a SF. He's similar to Bargnani where he has the ability to play inside but chooses not to and is more comfortable taking the outside jump shot. He's a decent defender at the 4 but as always with these Euro bigs, they don't have that toughness/willingness to hustle for boards/getting into position.
13. James Anderson SG 6'6'' 195 21 C+ B D+ B- C B
Best scorer in this draft. Great size and good defender. Doesn't have the upside like George but he's got a similar skill set. He's got the intuition of a pure scorer and he's a terrific shooter.
14. Ekpe Udoh PF 6'10'' 240 23 C+ D+ C- B B- B
Udoh could be a surprising asset for whatever team drafts him. He's up there in age but he's polished and ready to play. Good rebounder and a knack for blocking shots with his long arms.
15. Daniel Orton C 6'10'' 260 20 C+ D D B- C+ B
Orton's got the tools to be a good solid big man in the league. He's got a very high celing but some question his decision to enter the draft. He could easily be a top 5 pick next year. Has a long way to go but he's got the ability to be solid a starter.
16. Devin Ebanks SF 6'7'' 204 21 C+ C+ C B+ C A
Good all-around player who focuses on defense. At this point of the draft, taking a defender is not that risky. He's got good size and has a raw offensive game going.
17. Eric Bledsoe PG 6'1'' 195 20 C+ C+ C+ C+ D A
Another player with tremendous upside that could go very high. There's a lot of question marks surrounding his game since he played the off-guard when he was at Kentucky with Wall. He's got a deadly shot but is a very streaky shooter.
18. Lance Stephenson SG 6'5'' 210 19 B- C+ C C C A
Stephenson has attitude problems which could be a problem in the locker room but he's got tremendous talent. He's got a similar game to Henry but is better all-around. He's got incredible upside so if he's in the right environment, he could be a huge steal.
19. Armon Johnson PG 6'3'' 195 21 C+ C+ B- C+ D B
Great size and looks to create for his teammates first. He's got tools to be a very good player. He doesn't have the upside as a lot of players available but he could be a solid starter.
20. Willie Warren SG 6'4'' 207 21 C+ C+ C+ C+ D A
He'd be an excellent PG but he looks to shoot first. He's got a decent game but many scouts question whether his game will translate well into USOLR. Decent pick at this point of the draft and is definitely hit or miss.
21. Stanley Robinson SF 6'8'' 220 22 B C- D B C+ C
Stanley Robinson is one of the most ready players available in this year's draft. He's got good size and plays like a power forward. He's too undersized to play the 4 so he'll most likely be a good spark off the bench. Teams drafting at this point of the draft are already contenders so it wouldn't be that bad to select a player who can play and contribute immediately.
22. Jan Vesely PF 6'11'' 230 20 B- C+ C C C A
Another player who has tremendous upside. He's got a decent all-around game but is a fairly risky pick. He's got good size and has the physical tools to be effective but drafting solely on upside is too risky early on.
23. Jordan Crawford SG 6'4'' 195 22 C+ B C- C D+ B
Yes, the same kid who dunked on THE Lebron James at his OWN camp. He's got hops and is a terrific shooter. He's not very good on the defensive end and is a bit one dimensional to be a lottery pick.
24. Omar Samhan C 6'11'' 265 23 B C- D C B D
Another player who will contribute for his team immediately. He's got a knack to score even when you think it's impossible. He's a good rebounder but he doesn't use his size effectively on the defensive end.
25. Elliot Williams SG 6'4'' 180 21 B- C+ C- C+ D+ B
A decent shooter who does most of his work driving to the lane. He's a bit undersized and doesn't have an extremely high ceiling.
26. Damion James SF 6'7'' 227 23 B- D+ D+ C+ B C
Another player who will be effective immediately. Only reason he drops this far is he's way too undersized to play the 4 and doesn't have the versatility/range to play the 3. Worth a risk this late in the draft.
27. Dominique Jones SG 6'4'' 215 22 B C C+ C+ D+ B
Guards who can't shoot are tough to draft early on. He's got decent size to be an effective guard off the bench and has decent handles for a 2-guard.
28. Patrick Patterson PF 6'9'' 235 21 B- D D C+ B- B
Good size and will have an immediate presence in the low-post. He's got the raw skills but doesn't have the upside to be a lottery pick.
29. Larry Sanders PF 6'10'' 235 22 C D D B+ C+ B
A good shot blocker who will never have a very effective offensive game. He's got good size but doesn't have the upside to put him over the hump.
1. John Wall PG 6'4'' 195 20 B C+ B- B- C- A
