It looked like Portugal was hoping for a penalty shoot out.. Gotta feel for the Japanese player, hate to be the person to miss the penalty that keeps your team alive.. Which is why you don't put a defender who hasn't scored in forever to take your PK. Maybe they didnt have anyone left to take it? Thats why I dont get when teams substitute their best players, they play for the 90 minutes on their club teams, if it goes to a penalty shoot out, who will take the penalty? grrrrrr

Penalty shoot-outs are totally different to how good a player you are. They are different to even your regular spot kick.
I actually took a penalty on Saturday in the 93rd minute to win us the game (was tied 2-2) and it's so much different. Skill = not required (not saying I'm shit). Just being composed.

And a lot of players won't put their hands up to take a pk either...

yup yup, and in most cases, your better players should be the ones that show the most composure under pressure.. Maybe that Japanese player wanted to take.. In any case he wont want to take another one lol

Sergio Busquets put together one of the best passing performances in Spain's World Cup history. The midfielder completed 97 of his 102 passes, the highest percentage of any Spaniard who attempted at least 85 passes in a match since 1966. He also ranks 7th of any player during that same time. Spain's passing accuracy is 88.6 percent at this World Cup, which is the 4th-highest at a single World Cup since 1966.

lol because Argentina is a much better and more dangerous team than Germany.
Let's see...
Klose and Podolski?
Or Messi, Tevez, and Higuain... with Aguero off the bench.
No thank you.

Americans are asphyxiated on world rankings. They mean nothing. Rankings are awesome, how else will you be able to assess yourself amongst other teams? Especially when lots of times you never play head to head and don't even play that many of the same teams!
