Better for England to play like that now and save everything for the knock-out round (Boston Celtics style).
What a howler by Green, couldn't believe it. Was in the city watching it at a pub at 4.30am for fucks sake, the place was in shock when he let it go through. Unbelievable.
In other news, Australia vs Germany tonight, HUGE match! 4.30am kick off!

Can't believe USA tied England, sicky! "drew with" it's not a tie, it's a draw. Smh at both the comment and how the comment was made.

Fuck.
Germany looking absolutely clinical atm. Would roll France, Argentina and England easily with this sort of play.

I know, IMO red cards should be reviewed upstairs or something before they do that... Way too much power from one ref, that's bullcrap. Reminds me of USA vs Italy in 2006, smh..

It's one of the main talking points in football, whether or not we should use technology to sort out red cards, goal-line incidents, offsides etc etc. The big argument against it that always rules so far is that it'd slow the game down like a lot of American sports.

Well, offsides isn't as big of a deal, they are usually so close anyway, so whatever. Sometimes they go your way, sometimes they don't. But to take a player away from a team for a normal foul is just silly and COMPLETELY changes the entire state of the game. Once your down 11 on 10, you are basically done. Red cards for sure should be reviewed IMO.

Still think technology should be used though. When the ref misses something but everyone around the world can see what happened on TV... it's fucked up to just take the one ref's point of view.

Question on handballs in the box. Even if the hand ball was unintentional but clearly hits your hand, which stopped a potential big play, would this be considered a callable hand ball? Just wondering cuz that German player today had an obvious hand ball but the ref shrugged it off because it seemed unintentional.

Might be wrong, but even if it is true, I'd guess Australia will appeal. Only helps with the suspension duration though, doesn't help the fact that they'd be down a man in the match itself though.

Just wondering cuz that German player today had an obvious hand ball but the ref shrugged it off because it seemed unintentional. Unintentional hand balls are not hand ball, but obviously refs can make mistakes and think it's intentional. At the same time there is a "ball-to-hand" ruling where if you just kick the ball at the opponent's hand or arm, it's not a hand ball as it's not intentional... so it's not just the case that if the ball touches your hand or arm it's immediately deemed as a hand ball. All is up to ref's interpretations though.
