Strengths:[/u] Birch is a deceptively good scorer. Many people underestimated his scoring because he was a star player for a school like Iowa, but all signs point to him continuing to score even at the next level. He's strong on the inside and can hit the mid-range jumper with ease. He is a solid rebounder and a well-rounded defender capable of playing some SF as well. Despite his size, he has good strength to him and won't be pushed around easily. Weaknesses:[/u] He is not a threat from beyond the arc whatsoever and there is no chance of that changing. Athletically, he's almost embarrassing. He can't block shots to save his life. It's questionable if he can play SF full-time. Scout's Take:[/u] Birch's future rests in the hands of the team that takes a chance on him. They will have to work to find a spot to accommodate his skills and limitations. With some extra attention, he could become a very useful player in the future. However, his peak is probably a scoring 6th man off the bench, but who knows? Comparison:[/u] Al Harrington Ratings:[/u] Khem Birch PF 6'9'' 215 22 B- C C- C+ C+ A Iowa Sr.
