it's obvious that NY is the place that he wants to go...if you were the Nuggets GM, wouldn't you try to get young players now (gallo, AR, etc) while you can, instead of playing one more mediocre season with Melo who will leave via FA in 2011 anyway?

Hard to say. Indications are that he wants out, but it hasn't come directly from his mouth. Plus I'm sure he's seen the flack LeBron and Paul took this summer and wants to avoid that firestorm from the media.

ehh but it's different for Melo, LeBron was a native of Ohio so that was extra pressure on his decision. Melo has NY written all over him...'cuse where he won a title, LaLa Vasquez wanting to stay in NY for her career, etc

the nuggets took a HUGE step back when they traded Camby for nothing. Even though the got billups, who is good, but is definitely aging.
now its being reported that Nets, Rockets are also on Melo's "wishlist"

That Nuggets team is too volatile to be successful. They need everything to go right for an extended amount of time.
They could use an actual center, K-Mart would be better off the bench. And Chauncey is starting to do his disappearing act again. They need to change some things up there.

I honestly don't think NYK is his only option, even if he hits FA. He may surprise some people.

It would suck trading Gallo, I hope, best case scenario we can just sign him in the off season next year without trading anybody. Who knows what will happen though, I guess the knicks have already offered.
