I put my team in a position to sign Al Jeff. I made moves to get cap room. What do you expect to get for that? Nothing? I put my team in that position, took a risk and it paid off. Was EP a top player when I signed him? Don't be silly. I took him in his 3rd year in the league when he was nowhere near a star. You're acting as if it takes a rocket scientist to get cap room, it doesn't. Getting cap room and signing someone is pure luck. EP was a top player, everyone knew he was going to be good, even the Hawks GM at the time was complaining for seasons on end that he wanted to extend EP a third year. What are you talking about? Look at the FA signing thread when I signed him and see if you can find posts where other people even mentioned that I got him, let alone mentioned anything about how good he'd be. |

Putting your team in a position to get the top pick in a 2-man loaded draft, and then dropping to 3rd is poor luck. Landing someone in FA is luck too, sure, but it's not all luck because if I hadn't had cap space I wouldn't have been able to do it. I had the worst record in a previous year and dropped out to 4. Stop complaining that your luck is worse than mine. I'm not saying my luck is worse than yours, I'm saying I was due some luck and that it sucked it had to be at your expense. You're the one who blew it out of proportion. |

Again, the Hawks GM at the time sent a PM to ashes how he wanted to extend EP and missed out on it. Check out the thread where Ashes revealed PMs from the past. Again, stop acting as if you were the only one to realize how good EP was in his third year. Yes, you offered the most money and you did a good job building your team around him but to claim you were the only one to know about him is nonsensical. |

I thought it was Maniac and the Sixers. Either way, like I said, check out the FA signings thread, nobody said anything. If people thought he'd blow up they would've offered more money. I didn't even offer the max. There was plenty more room to sign him but no-one offered up. Tough shit. You losing Alex is nothing like how I lost Al Jeff, but then when I lost Al Jeff I didn't throw a hissy fit. You lost a flight-risk, tough shit. Deal with it. |
