The Review:
1. Vancouver Grizzlies - Shaquille O'Neal C 7'1'' 300 21 B D C B+ B+ A
The Grizzlies selected the consensus #1 pick in the draft. Shaq will become the franchise player for Vancouver and will be a superstar for many years. He will likely to become the greatest center to come out in a draft. He will dominate on offense, rebound, defend, command double teams, and everything else. He should make an immediate impact in his rookie season.
2. Houston Rockets - Chris Webber PF 6'10'' 260 20 B C- C B- B- A
Houston selects the top PF in the draft. Webber is a very special player who has a great skill set for his position. He can score inside-out, rebound, defend, and especially pass the ball. He will probably become the best passing big the league will see. Webber and Kevin Johnson will create a sick duo together in Houston.
3. Utah Jazz - Penny Hardaway SG 6'7'' 200 20 B- B- B- C+ C A
The Cinderella's of last years playoffs add a very versatile player to their team. Penny can do everything from score, pass, rebound, defend, and even create for his teammates. He can play from the 1 to 3 and should become a mis-match nightmare for point guards. He should be a star in this league and a franchise player to build around with in Utah.
4. Atlanta Hawks - Sam Cassell PG 6'3'' 195 22 B- C B- B- D+ A
Atlanta selects a very good post up guard in Cassell. Although the Hawks are deep at PG, Cassell was probably the best player available at this selection. Cassell should give the Hawks scoring and ball handling. Not a true PG who will pass the ball but they will get a scorer for now.
5. Dallas Mavericks - Michael Finley SF 6'7'' 215 20 B- B- C C+ C A
The Mavs select a power guard out of Wisconsin. Finley is very athletic and his game relies on scoring inside and especially outside where he is deadly from behind the 3 point line. He should also provide ball handling, passing, and defending. Rebounding could be an issue for him but that should be improved in time. Finley should be dominant scorer on Dallas for many years.
6. Vancouver Grizzlies - Allan Houston SG 6'6'' 200 22 C A- C C+ C- A
After selecting Shaq, the Grizzlies go with a outstanding sharpshooter in Allan Houston. He is a GREAT outside scorer and should put up 20+ for Vancouver. He and Shaq will create a deadly inside-out duo together.
7. Buffalo Braves - Eddie Jones SG 6'6'' 190 21 C+ C+ C B+ C A
The two time Cinderella's select the best defensive guard in the draft. He should provide Buffalo with solid defense night in and night out and some scoring. He would be a nice player to come off the bench or even start.
8. Portland Trailblazers - Vin Baker PF 6'11'' 234 21 B C- C C+ B B
The Blazers go with probably the most underated player in the draft. Baker should give Portland low post scoring in the post and rebounding..but that's pretty much it. He should work on his defense and he should improve that in time. Most likely he will start from day 1 depending on how he impresses the team in TC. Baker and Benjamin could be a force up front if everything goes well.
9. Miami Heat - Bruce Bowen SF 6'7'' 185 22 C B- C- A- D+ B
Miami goes with the best defensive wing in the draft. Bowen's game is all about defense and ONLY defense. But he can also make the occasional 3 point shot when he's wide open, especially from the corner where his shooting % goes up best. He should become one of the best defensive players to ever come out. He won't be a star but he will be a very good role player on Miami.
10. Chicago Bulls - Ignacio Rodriguez PG 6'2'' 187 22 C C B B+ C- B
Chicago selects the best point guard in the draft. Ignacio is a great ball handler and also a tough defender. He should be a very good player for Chicago and could possibly start for them.
11. Miami Heat - Dino Radja PF 6'11'' 245 26 B C C- B- C+ B
Two picks later Miami goes with a player who is one of the most UOSLR ready prospects in the draft. He is 26 and although scouts are turned off from his age, Radja is already a very good player who can score down low and also defend/rebound. He should become a nice role player for Miami and could even spot start.
12. Philadelphia 76ers - Shawn Bradley C 7'6'' 248 21 C+ C- D+ B+ C A
The Sixers select the tallest player the league has not seen since Manute Bol. Bradley should come right in and block shots. He can also score from midrange. However is he very slow and is not a very good rebounder for his height. He should come off the bench for Philly behind Robinson and and Dudley.
13. Orlando Magic - Calbert Cheaney SG 6'7'' 209 21 C+ B C B- C B
Rounding out the Lottery, the Orlando Magic goes with a smooth scorer and defender in Cheaney. He is probably one of the most underated prospects in the draft. Cheaney has a very good midrange shot and he shoots it at a high percentage. Orlando gets a very nice player here who could turn out a steal. He should be a very good role player but could eventually spot start for them, as a 6th man.
