J's response: Imma pass, I think I can get better/more picks elsewhere.
i would have negotiated more ... but the guy takes forever to respond to PM's, and i cant afford to wait out the whole season and then he doesnt do a deal

Agreed, get a couple picks and a prospect, not bad for some older guys.
That being said, redd and lee are still great players and should def push shaunkol to 40+ wins.

So my reasoning is 4 fold
1) If I dont win 40 this year (im 9-15), next year will be my contract year. I wont have any youth to deal, and Griffin's huge expiring and these picks are the only assets I have. It would have been very difficult for me to win 40 next year trying to rebuild in 1 year
2) I actually gain cap flexibility from this. My only players under contract next year are Smith, Deng and a min guy. This trade wipes off another 2+ mill from my books
3) The players I gave up. Hopkins I really liked after his first TC ... but his decrease in both rebounding AND defense in TC, really made me believe he is a bench guy long term. Other than that, I give up my 1st, which I dont think will be lottery, and a crappy Bucks 2019 1st.
4) The players I get. Lee and Redd can still ball. I think with Smoove and Deng, they can get us to 40
