Strengths:[/u] Levy has many of them. He has a great jump shot and has incredible range. His combination of speed and size equates to him causing trouble in the paint quite often for opposing teams. He is a lefty that loves to go right, very unique finisher. He possesses wonderful court-vision and loves to dazzle players and fans with inventive and flashy passing. He is a great rebounder for his position, but his size gives him that natural advantage over even some shooting guards. He is a spectacular player to watch on the court. Weaknesses:[/u] Defense is not his forte. He almost seems too passive on defense, or even overly relaxed. The sense of urgency on the defensive end is completely absent and it is a huge liability for his team. He tends to over-dribble a bit, so turnovers could be an issue. Not the greatest of leapers. Scout's Take:[/u] One thing that intrigues most teams about Gillespie is his size. He's a very tall point guard that has demonstrated more than capable abilities playing the position. Scouts were initially worried his success was due to playing lesser competition in college, but his achievements in the NCAA tourney has erased all doubts of his talents. He is a promising guard that should make an impact right away and could be dominant in the future. Ratings:[/u] Levy Gillespie PG 6'5'' 210 21 C+ B+ B+ C C A Rhode Island Jr.
