So you're all saying these deals are ok? Why not just cap it? I fail to see the big deal. What is max-max offer? 35% why not cap it at 30%

meh, the bosh and iggy deals are awful. But gm's don't look at the big picture when offering these deals.
At the same time, there's a window to unload these guys when they're still stars. people just hold on to them for too long.

teams offer these huge deals knowing they are too much. I would rather 7 year max Wall than lose him. not to mention the approaching CY forces a lot of teams hands.
the attitude that I would rather overpay and at least get something, rather than underpay and get nothing, isn't something you can make a rule on.
