We are now entering our 12th season of UOSLR, so I figure what better time to rank the Franchises on there performance so far. To do this, I came up with a formula, to take bias out of the equation for the most part, as obviously I would be influenced by what they have done lately.
I gave teams
1 point for a regular season win
2 points for a playoff win
5 points for a playoff appearance
10 points for a finals appearance
25 points for a title
That means a first round playoff appearance is worth 5-11 points (5 for the appearance + up to three wins at two points each) 2nd round is 13-19 points, Conference Championship 21-27, a Finals appearance is worth 39-45, and a title is worth 72 points, due to the wins. The most possible points in the regular season would be 82, and the most possible points in the playoffs 72. Without further hesitation, I present the overall Rankings.

Interesting notes
- I think these balance out quite Nicely, it is clear however, that Vancouver is the best....who would have expected that after the C-wizz era.
- Toronto benefited obviously from the first overall pick in the franchise draft, however, his score gains a lot of points because he spent the first ten seasons in the playoffs, which is impressive no matter what, That streak finally ended this year, making it so that every team has missed the playoffs at least once.
- If Shaun wants to make a case about the number one pick meaning a huge amount in a title run, he can brag that the top 4 have all had a number one pick, however, so have teams 29, 26, 25, 18, 17, 13.
- Miami has only three playoff appearances in the history of the franchise, yet has two Finals and one Title.
- The average point total in this comes out to 565, with only 12 teams placing above that mark, thanks to the Grizzlies and Raptors dominance.
- The Raptors 10 playoff appearances match the Sonics for the most, however, Toronto won on average 3.2 more games than did the Supersonics.
- Seattle has the most playoff wins of any team without a title with 42
- The stat I find most amazing is that New York only has five playoff wins in its history, and it has been to the playoffs 5 times. Another interesting stat is that there is only one team to have been to the finals, but not to have won a title.
- to put that last stat in perspective, New York and Golden State have both been in the playoffs 5 times....and Golden State has 50 more wins in the five appearances!!!
- Houston has been to the finals once, however, they are the only team to participate in a finals series, but not manage to win a title at some point. Every other Franchise that has reached the Finals, has managed to win the title at some point or another.
- Vancouver has exactly one half of the possible points to this point 847 out of 1694 available
- Asterisks next to the team name stand for number of titles. If you are wondering why there are only 10 even though we have gone 11 years, it is because the Nets franchise won the first tile, as the 8 seed, but were then known as the Buffalo Braves. When the GM that ran the Braves was fired (and I was hired) the move was made to eventually return the team to New Jersey, but losing the asterisk.
- for Kru:Teams who have had one GM throughout the league rank 2/5/7/11/16/18/21/24/25/26/28...not so great
