Also, with the other VAN trades considered the value of this pick is through the roof. If i were talking trade knowing about the SA/VAN deal I might want more.

Yes, I make the Hornets a great team, but I get a great first for this year. Just because the Hornets get a great team out of it doesn't mean I made a bad deal. I get a chance at some great players in this year's draft.

I'm just trying to figure out how Sprewell and two random 1sts are better than your own 1st with the opportunity of having one of the most dominant big men ever to play the game. Especially considering the state of the franchise.
Actually, it's laughable to consider Sprewell + 2 futures better than this.

No way does trading for Sprewell and two future 1sts, 1sts which you'd be doing everything in your power to make sure weren't lotto and thus are huge variables, have any advantage over trading for your own pick back. A 1st you can control. Spencer had all the leverage possible, so of course he can get the best deal out of it, but if you HONESTLY think Sprewell and 2 futures is better than getting back the probable Projected #1, you're insane. I can understand you're obviously sour, but really now, you're taking this too far. |

Since when does the projected #1 mean anything? 25% chance of getting #1 compared to 75% chance of getting something else. And a 25% chance of getting #4, to be honest.
And look at what's happened so far in this league:
#12 getting #2, #1 getting shafted twice.
#5 and #6 getting #1 and #2.
I'm not saying that it's bound to happen again, but trading for these picks are such crap shoots with the lotto. That's all. If he gets Shaq with this pick, more power to him, but I'd still say that for all intensive purposes, unless that happens, then, well, yeah.
